V6 Kompressor badge
I've had my badges put on (it was de-badged) but I'm paranoid 'cos I think they are too high . What do you guys think?
(also had my new seat base fitted 'cos the heater wasn't working - that's chipper now, and nice new leather too )

I thought so. Thanks for replying.
I said I thought they were too high when I picked the car up. The service manager said he wasn't sure 'cos he'd not seen the badges on this model before !!!!!
So how can I make sure they put them in the correct position if they don't know where they go? Surely it's not guesswork? Is there a template they should be using?
Thanks in advance.

As far as I know all MB Workshops have a tool to align the letter perfectly (rear badges). For side, I am sure they use a similar tool.
Just visit them and check if they have the tool and complain about it... they might also have a C32 to better compare the two.

They're very helpful and courteous though, so I'm sure they'll oblige. I just don't want to have to take it back again if it goes wrong.

seat bottoms
Hey Aero,
You had mentioned you got new seat bottom because the heated seats weren't working. I am currently dealing with the same problem. did you get new leather for both seats? And how long did it take for MB service to get the leather in?

yes...they are too high...
I had it taken off when I got the car (because my dad said it was ugly and told the sales to take it off and I was like Ok), but put them back later on and they put the badge too close to the door's side. and that's after their second attempt because they messed up the first time by putting the badge right below the belt line that goes across the front fender.

a picture of the badge...
it's the perfect height, but see it's too close to the door's side. The other side is even worse because of the V is slanted, but oh wellz...shouldn't have messed with them in the first place...

btw, you talking to me or Aero? if it's me I'll probably repaint the hood and front bumper in another year or two. pretty much all the chips were from last year when I was commuting to school, too much driving on the truck filled freeway.

WTF!?
edit: took out his banner just so people don't go there. I suspect the site might even just be flooded with virus or some sort...

A lot of people simply remove the side badging because they don't care for the look.
I pulled my side badging off the first day.

the c32 i bought was used and debadged as well. now i have the v6kompressor badges on. luckily i found a parked c32 in my area and was able to measure the exact dimensions (didn't touch or scratch the car at all ). i will try to find them and post them up. it took maybe 20 mins to put on. notice that the side-strips are curved down, however, i used a level with a balancing-fluid to determine what is very accurately straight. at certain angles, it may seem as if the v6kompressor badge is slightly crooked at times because the silver side strip is slightly slanted/curved down (this is stock configuration, didn't touch those), however, i know my badge is straight. if you need those dimensions, i can dig them up.

I've rung the dealer & he's ordering me a new set.
I was a bit disappointed though because the conversation with the dealer was along the lines of '...if you think they're too high sir, then they're too high...'. I would like the dealer to be convinced too, but he says he's got nothing to compare to
Oh well.
