Post Evosport Stage I dyno
Simon, you were at 318 with just the pulley. I am at 325 with another big chunk of $$$ spent besides the pulley. That's my point. It's as if I basically got the full thirty horses out of the pulley and a few out of switching to 93 octane, and that the $ spent on the ECU and the SL55 intake did not accomplish much. I have put more than 300 miles on the car since having the work done. When would one expect the sleeping mares to suddenly awaken? FYI I have not driven the car gently since the mods.
I realize that I am whining incessantly, but hopefully you all can understand my point. If I would have been happy with "30-something" additional HP, I would have just done the pulley.
I will goto the 1/4 mile track soon and test the old C32, Should do a low 13 based on my 1/8 mile. I am guessing 104-105 trap and for every 10 rwhp you pick up 1 mph. Also you can pick up mph by lightning the C32. Every 100lbs is good for 1.25 mph and .1 in the 1/4.
Just a thought.
I've been working on slimming the pig down (the car, too). I started out with a head start by not having the moonroof (someone's estimate was a 60-70 lb. saving there). Also, I installed the Optima battery (another 30 lbs). The Evosport pulley mods knocked off 13 lbs. My car has no options other than the CD changer and premium sound, which probably saves another few lbs. Next on the hit list are wheels. Being the stubborn **** that I am, I am determined to fit those 15 lb. SSR Comps on my C32. It looks like I will have to use a spacer in front, but that they should fit. I figure that those wheels, combined with swapping my Rossos out for Pilot Sport 2s or Toyos, should knock another 60 lbs. off the beast. I can't stomach swapping seats or anything of that nature, so that will probably be the end of the vomitmobile's diet (unless someone comes along with a great deal on a carbon fiber hood and trunk lid). I might be down to low 3400s or even high 3300s after the wheels/tires?
I think the low dyno had alot to do with the fact that the rocket surgeon who performed it did not have any cooling fans on the motor during the process. My guess is that the computer sensed the engine heating and retarded the timing, which would explain why my torque readings were higher than my HP. Also, I just installed some K&Ns and noted that my stock air filter was dark brown-very dirty. Maybe my imagination, but car seems to run a little stronger. I will try to re-dyno it this week, if there is time.
Anyways, you will eventually see Vomit post a sub 13 second 1/4 mile time. Like the dope-smoking suit guy says, "I guarantee it."

As for weight reduction, each pound off the wheels is equal to 4 pounds off the car.
Good luck on your quest. I am shooting for a high 10 in the vette N/A. Once I get the vette into the 10's, I will get the C32 into the 11's a 75 shot of nitrous should put it in the low 12's.
Have fun and if I can think of anything else to reduce the weight I will post it.
