CLK63 030 SLK brake upgrade
Ive spent the last few days searching all the posts on here any everything, and iam just about ready to buy the brakes, as I can get 20% off the lot at the moment.
Theres 1 concern however. This is on a C55. I have stock wheels, and I know the clearance is tight, but ok, but iam on H&R coilovers as well, and iam sure I read a post on here about someone having coilovers on a C55 and the fronts didn't fit. Now this is a major worry as I love my wheels.
Is there anything I could do, if they didn't quite fit? Say raise the coilover height, or use a spacer or somet?
Really don't wanna spend 2grand on brakes for them to not fit.

Enough.
It came in too high when I made this post, iam waiting on another source.
Put it this way id rather be paying American Dollars and be on that side of the Atlantic when it comes to buying them.

If ($678) for both Rotors, it will be definitely good price..!
you have differ spec., of Rotor height & thickness,,
1) C32/C55 Rotor height is (47.5mm) & thickness is (30mm).
2) Clk63 non-BS Rotor height is (49.7mm) & thickness is (32mm).
may need spacers for Rotor center balance, or for wheel clearance..!?!

Sure, Slk55/Clk63 brakes will direct bolt-on to "R171/W203/W209",,
but i ment; in case of need to put any other kind of Rims, without using Rims spacers..!!

I'm 100% sure, Clk63 brakes are better than stock,
C32/C55 1-piece drilled Rotor (345x30), with 4-pot calipers vs
Clk63 2-piece drilled/slotted Rotor (360x32) with 6-pot caliper= "less heat range"
how difference will NOT noticeable..!!

If op is going to use the car for track work yes I highly recommend change , because they do fade, but for everyday driving the answer is no, he will no feel any difference from his stock rotors, that's from my experience as I changed the callipers and rotors as well, and know I'm thinking what a waste of money because I don't do track work and the car brakes like before with stock callipers and rotors, If you think otherwise you should have become an amg engineer.

This is strange logic..!
i don't believe something like brake upgrade is "WASTE of MONEY", whatever the reason of upgrading it,,
can you explain; why AMG officially upgrade brakes as pp package "030/031/033/-99/p99s",,
did they know, you will go to track or did they say; this is NOT for daily drive..!!?!?!!?
this is your own opinion, we should to respect that NO doubt..!

Thanks Zayed for your reply, all as I'm saying is for normal daily driving and the occasional drag here and there, the brakes that op has are more than capable off stopping power, I highly respect your thoughts and comments but I'm just trying to save op money.

I upgraded my brakes to the SLK55 030 pack
the rears are the same regardless of whether its for a SLK55/CLK55/CLK63, they're all 330m and 4 piston. they fit really well on my C55, I had to angle grind some of the heat shield/ stone guard behind the rotor, but that's fine.
the front's I bought the 6 piston calipers for the 340mm rotor, and I used a washer which spaced it out to fit the 345mm stock C55 rotor.
the rotor is much cheaper than the 2 piece 340mm rotor and much cheaper than the 360mm rotor.
majority of the brake improvement comes from good pads, I chose just ceramic ones, (hawk for front) I cant remember the brand for the rear, I think it was euro?
I use high temp brake fluid 600f boiling point, and flushed it properly/thoroughly.
there is an improvement, for most part its minor. you definitely feel the improvement when you're on the brakes hard eg. a hills run
but honestly I recommend retaining the disks on the stock C55 and saving some $$$,
as for clearance I've got the 16 spoke SLK AMG rims, but they're the same measurements as the stock C55 rims. clearance isn't an issue. I just liked the look of it

When I hadta replace brakes as a service on my W209 2004 model, I couldn't find the 2 piece rotors so instead used a washer and the C55 brake disc which are single piece. The car still breaks well maybe better I suppose due to the weight increase from the C55 rotor to the CLK55 rotor. I could be wrong but yeah the steering is gone heavier but atleast I am mobile again and everything is working fine.

Cheers brezza. Yeah I could probably spend the money better elsewhere, but meh im not bothered, it looks awesome and I wont have to worry about brake fade when iam tracking it.
