Anyone replace Bose speakers with aftermarket?

How does the setup on the Bose system work?

Has anyone replaced the speakers and amps while keeping the headunit? How about just the speakers?

Subs: aftermarket sub to add to the stock system. Anyone try this?

Ive done the last 2. Sounded VERY good but not GREAT. Ended up switching to an Alpine D900.

What was your setup?

What did you install? Where did you install the subs, did you use custom enclosures that form fit into the trunk or just a box?

How do you think the wheel well would be for a sub? I have a 2002 with no spare, so that space it totally open.

MBQuartz components, 2 JL Audio W6v2 12"subs, 2 Phoenix Gold Titanium amp and 10 farat cap and the ICE. The subs sit in the trunk....I guess you can say I had them put in custom enclosures:p

I added a sub box in my trunk. Boston Acoustics 12", Xtant sub amp. I connected to the high level signal going to the rear door speakers. It isn't great, but it is much, much better than stock. I couldn't stand the stock sub on rock or blues. If I did it again, I would just use a 10" sub, and get a more powerful amp.

That's the only reason why I wouldn't get navigation. My bumps will sound like ****..id rather get the kenwood flip up, and just add navi to it. Plus my interiors speakers would be hella clean (aftermarket) whatcha think?

I have subs in my car, and I have command. It is some tricky wireing but it sounds pretty good. If you do a search I think I posted the how to. (a long time ago)
