Performance upgrade?
Renntech is kind of close to me, within about an hour and evosport is across the country. I was wondering if it'd be possible to keep my stock ecu and somehow get a new one with a chip?
What do some of you guys do when you take your car in for service and it's been chipped?
Also, are there any main hp differences between evo & renntech?
Thanks!

Seriously, the Evosport clan is a top-quality group of individuals who have done extensive testing (on their own cars). Have you ever seen a posting in which anyone claims that their Evosport mods caused a problem with their C32? Neither have I (and given the general beetchyness of alot of the members of this forum, myself included, I have no doubt that you would immediately hear of any problems).
As far as Renntech v. Evosport goes, the subject has been covered at length in other threads. Suffice it to say that their products are similar (but the Evosport aluminum pulleys shed 13 lbs. off of your motor). Beyond tangible product, however, Evosport seems to be alot more enthusiastic about product development.
I am not trying to start a thread who is better evosport vs renntech frankly I don't give a damn I think they are both awesome.
I am mainly concerned with how it would effect my warranty, this thread gave me a better understanding of it.
I am still a little confused on the ECU part however, I don't want my dealer to know the ECU has been tampored with otherwise I think my dealer will drag this into something.
It sucks that I have boughten 130,000 worth of cars from this dealer and am worried about minor warranty stuff.
i choose evosport over renntech due to the best dollar/HP ratio. they will dyno your car to prove to you that your car has gained that much HP. what more could you ask for?

If MBZ and Evosport both deny to fix a problem, I will do things the "American Way" and sue them both and let them figure it out in court. Aren't you Evosport guys happy you worked on my car?
lmao, i like this guy
The bottom line is: If your car takes a dump which, modded or not, it would've taken, MBZ is on the hook. You could drive your broken-down rig into the dealer with a big-**** banner on your dash saying "Maximum Evosport/Renntech Performance" but, unless they can prove that the mods caused the failure, it does not effect your warranty. If the mods did cause your failure, then the mod company (assuming that it is a reputable one) will take care of you. I think that you are way too worried about the ECU. The ECU is the last thing in the world that MBZ will notice. My advice: Go with the odds. If everyone says it works, give it the benefit of the doubt.
Out of curiousity, I have started a separate thread entitled "My Renntech/Evosport/Other Tuner Mods Ruined My Engine." Let's see how many people respond affirmatively.
For people who have powerchips (Evosport ECU), can you read info with OBDII? I had problems getting a connection.
I would expect Stage 2 to consist of the pulleys, intercooler washer tank mod, ECU
AND SL55 intake, Supersprint headers, Evosport plug wires.
Also the stage 2 ECU program, I would expect to be slightly different than the Stage 1 ECU program?
Don
m444 - Stage 2 includes all stage 1 items + SL55 intake, Supersprint headers, Evosport plug wires, and stage 2 ecu software.
Where in the fort lauderdale/miami area could I get all of theese mods installed?
It doesn't have a price for Stage II on evosports website...I guess I'll call them up tomorrow.
No Thanks !! They can't rotate tires correctly. They are proud of my car when they do get to service it. Service manager is a good guy, and likes performace!!!
