C32 vs cla45

Was on freeway and ran cla45 with rebellion tune, friend of mine and he pulled on me. 😠
I want more power now, I have a 65mm sc, might change to 62mm, this where some pple say just a tune is fine and others say fuel pump, injectors.

Looking at the stats the CLA makes more hp tq out of the box and weighs 100 more lbs. I think the big difference is that the CLA is 4matic and you can make more boost with a turbo a lot easier. If you want to beat it you are going to have to go all out.

And that still might not be enough http://www.autoevolution.com/news/44...ery-79757.html

With approximately 440 bhp and 610 Nm (450 lb ft) of torque on tap from just an ECU mod via Rebellion's iTuning controller and their Hybrid Turbo, it is expected that naught to 100 km/h (62 mph) times have dropped to around 3.8 seconds.

He's gonna be faster, but you don't have to drive a CLA, so I'd call it a draw.

Yeah I drove the cla45 at the last private lounge event and I was not to impressed. It was quick dot get me wrong but it was hard to launch (turbo) and felt very civic like inside. I think I might be holding on to my 55 for a long time.

What wheels because finding good, non-$5k wheels isn't easy these days?

I am not a big fan of a square setup on these cars. It can help with the under steer but will kill the turn in.

I have always looked at headers as the final step you need more air and fuel before it is really worth the cost imho.

This is mainly for Morphh but i hope others will find it useful too. Unless you are planning to take your car to the track, leave the exhaust mods alone. You will never feel the difference on the street. Same goes for the lightweight rims. If you are planning to track your car, start now. Don't wait for all the mods. Track days can be a lot of fun.
But if you are looking to improve the exhaust sound, then 4 HP more or 4 HP should not make a difference to you. Just do it. Even the EC shorty headers will give you a better sound.
And regarding the original topic, C32 vs. CLA45, CLA has a newer and quicker shifting transmission. Additionally, as insame1 was saying, while the HP on a tuned C32 is in line with a tuned CLA45, the TQ on a tuned CLA45 is about 25% higher. That alone can explain why a tuned CLA45 will always beat a tuned C32. The 60ft. times tell me that the 4Matic is not a factor. The fastest CLA45 ran 0-60ft is 1.786 sec. while I ran 1.803 sec. in my C32.

I tracked the car 3 times this year so far and boy was it fun, felt like I was 18 years old again, the 19.2lbs wheels are 18x8 front with 235 rear would 18x8.5 with 255. Just got my tcu tune, wow tcu tune big difference.

We test drove a cla for my wife when she was in the market and yeah, the interior was very watered down and cheap feeling.

And coming from my torquey NA v8, the hunting of the CLA's transmission looking for the lagging turbo power combined with the sub-par interior have me near hating them.

Makes me appreciate my car that much more since it's way paid off and looks half its age at worst.

2004 c32 amg -brilliant silver metallic
C32 wins overall

C32 is easily quicker, I have a v3 sprint booster which deletes the transmission from thinking for me, and the c32 is just instantly quick. Numbers wise a 4 cylinder with less liters isn't quicker than a larger 6 cylinder, and at 26 psi the c32 can be upgraded much more than the 4 which is a few psi off a blown motor, also cla is nowhere near as fun to drive and unlike the 55s c32 is electronically limited at 185mph and not 155 like most Mercedes vehicles with the kompressor 8s, all wheel drive gets places quicker but I didn't buy a car for a straight line and if I put the cost of the cla into my 10,000 c32 I'm blowing the 7g out thr water because the c32 offers many mods for an extra 35,000 to make it cost the cla price, I've driven both and older is better, additionally amg sold out to Chrysler in 2006 so no real amgs exist after that. Only mass produced garb, not as valuable as the previous amgs

7 year older everyone thanks you. FYI the sprint booster does nothing to the transmission. all it does is changes where the ecu things the gas pedal is.
