C32 AMG Gas Mileage
Assuming that the percolator is actually running, the best that I have seen is about 23 MPG on flat highway. To get 26 or 28 MPG, you must be flying a spinnaker.
I really couldn't be bothered to stop so I drove to work with my best pair of slippers and arrived with 0 miles left to empty!
I averaged 28.4mpg with a combination of 75mph & 35mph roads with a few stops/starts and hills (up & down!).
I was pleased with this until I remembered that UK gallons are bigger than US gallons

dsc32 has allot of track miles so it should be well broken in.

Have you calculated your MPG by Distanced traveled/Gallons used? If your car actually gets 28.1mpg at an average of 71mph then you should sell your vehicle back to DC for millions of dollars, so they can reverse engineer your car.
Do you really get 450 miles on a tank of gas?
But how boring! How could you abuse your C32 like that by driving it like a Grandma for 1300 miles?? It's like a priest with a really hot stripper of a wife. . . What's the point?
To shake me out of the trance induced by driving my C32 as if it were a Ford Taurus, I reversed direction, brought her up to 110 (very quickly) and managed 13 MPG on the return trip. Y'all can imagine how really bad I felt when I got home about ignoring the speed law and wasting some liquefied dinosaur. . .
Oh, also got another ticket yesterday (for 55 in a 35). Cop was an ****. Another case from my favorite client (me). . .
Remember, when the Cali-cop asks you how fast you think you were going (and they always do ask), your reply should always be the same: "A reasonable and safe speed for conditions." The reason for this is that the posted speed in Cali is only a presumed limit. You can still win at trial even if (1) the cop shows up (make sure and continue your trial as many times as possible, so the cop gets tired of booking cancelled dates and flakes out) and (2) the cop has proof (radar or good observation) that you were going 55 in a 35 if you can show that 55 in the 35 was safe at the time (few cars on the road, good visibility, dry pavement, etc.). The reverse corollary to this is that you can also get a speeding ticket for driving at or below the posted speed limit if the road conditions make your speed unsafe.
Anyways, had I been going 40 or 45, I would have a really good shot. At 55, I suspect I will have a "smiling judge" (which means the same as a "hanging judge" who finds your story to be so lame as to be comical).
