No, I don't think so. A good bodyshop will sand it down to make it as smooth as possible, then he should put a primer and sand that as well. at that point there is no difference what color you put on. I had them paint this one with 6 coats so it wouldnt chip easily. I'm surprised how well the grill has held up

You painted the chrome strips btw, no way to get those out, so I guess someone would have to get new ones?
