It is, but the stock 17" rims will not fit over the front calipers.

So the 6Pot Caliper One Can Use Either the
340mm = Brembo 09.9254.33
Or
360mm = Brembo 09.9547.33

with no problems?

these are the parts I used when I did mines back in 2007

CLK63 030 AMG BRAKES KIT
003-420-67-83 (Caliper) Front
003-420-68-83 (Caliper) Front
004-420-50-20 (Brake Shoe) Front
209-421-01-12 (Brake Disc) x2 Front 360mm
003-420-29-83 (Caliper) Rear
003-420-30-83 (Caliper) Rear
004-420-49-20 (Brake Pad) Rear
171-423-02-12 (Brake Disc) x2 Rear 330mm
171-540-06-17 Front Brake Sensor
211-540-17-17 Rear Brake Sensor

Great job! Can you use the stock C55 rotors if wanted? They make an updated drilled rear rotor now...

Hi, no activity on here for a while... Since I acquired a very nice C55 AMG, I came across this forum.

Was wondering, reading through all the postings, one guy used a 360mm rotor and the other a 340mm for the front brakes with seemingly the same calipers.

How does this work, are both really working properly. I cannot get my head around this.

Does anyone have any explanation ?

Highly appreciated.

I have used the 340mm rotor as my 6 piston front caliper/4 piston rear came from an SLK 55. It is my understanding that the CLK63 black uses the 360mm caliper which is the same caliper with a different bracket which allows more clearance for the bigger rotor. Some people apply 10mm spacers to achieve the clearance with the smaller bracket, but this was not a solution I was willing to accept. Finding the bigger bracket is tough as it isn't a separately sold part, so unless you buy a black series set, manufacture a new bracket, or use spacers, the 340mm brake setup from some SLK55 or CLK63 may be the way to go. Good luck.

The C55 comes with 4/2 piston brakes, however the SLK55 depending on model year, comes with either the 4/2 piston caliper same as the C55 or with a 6/4 piston caliper. I used the 6/4 piston calipers from the SLK55 without any modifications on my C55. The bracket is one that attaches the caliper to the control arm, if you search on Google, it should come up. If you want the 360mm rotor, you either need to get a caliper from the CLK Black, make your own bracket for the or use spacers.

I have the 6/4 and from my understanding thats an option from factory for a c55 so I doubt you need any modifications

If your brakes look exactly like mine in the pictures in the first post front and back then consider yourself lucky. Someone already did the modification for you, because the C55 did not come from the factory with these brakes, not even as an option. You will gain very little going from this setup to the 360mm as the front calipers are exactly the same except for the bracket. You will spend $1K plus for new disks and another couple hundred for pads for very little gain, more looks than performance.

With my experiment, (360mm) is way better to go, than (340mm),

I don't think "Clk63 BS" calipers or even brackets will fit..!,

05-06 "Slk55 & Clk55" uses the same calipers & Rotors, which is (340x32),

07 "Clk63" use the same "Slk55 & Clk55" Front caliper but with differ bracket, cause it comes with (360x32),,

07-10 "Clk63 BS" sharing the same "W204 C63/W211 E63/W230 Sl63 facelift", which is (360x36), and differ bracket with differ caliper hole pattern..

That looks.way better. The 360mm looms proportional for the caliper. Definetly doing those next. Need to make sure the rim will clear. Current setup

Hi PJmak,
How exactly are your going to "do" the upgrade to 360mm, new calipers, or spacers or new bracket?

I am at the same decision point I have the calipers for the 340mm disks, did not buy the discs yet and have 19" wheels.

Thanks

If you want to go with (360mm), you will need to spaced the bracket to clear the Rotor & pads,

or you can go with (360mm) bracket, which preferred indeed..,

my friend made brackets for my (360mm) set-up while ago,,

really worth it, compared to tiny (340mm)..

Hi, I am new to W203 C55, saw your post and would like to ask a few things. I have a stock C55 with standard 4pot front / 2pot rear brake setup and am interested in putting an AMG 6pot front / 4pot rear but at the same time I have a few requirements.

1. It needs to be direct replacement without any bridge install (kind of illegal in where I am located).
2. I want to keep the stock 18in wheels.

Do you have any advise suggestions for me on doing this?

Thank you
Eric

However, I think I found a much cheaper option for the front brake rotors than any that have been covered here, so sharing it with the audience.

I sourced 6/4 piston brake calipers from an non 030 package 2006 SLK55. The process was a relatively straightforward bolt-on project which cost me approximately $1,800 in parts. Below are the parts I used:

SLK 6/4 piston calipers (salvage parts $1000)
Front Brembo rotors (Amazon $250-$280/piece) part #09.9254.33
Rear Bosch rotors (Rock Auto $63.99/piece) part #36011506
Front pads Centric (Rock Auto $29.79/set) part #10411160
Rear pads Centric (Rock Auto $20.99/set) part #10409840
Motive pressure bleeder (Amazon $60)

This was a true bolt-on project. The only modification needed was to the rear dust shields, where some material had to be cut away to fit the larger calipers. I am extremely happy with the results and cost of the parts. Took me over a year to do the research and collect all the parts, but the final result was well worth it.

If anyone is curious about the AMG wheel shown, it's a C63 wheel with spacers.

Thanks to the board for all the good information.

if you read through this thread, your questions are already answered, Boxert is indicating this is a true bolt-on project (and cutting rear dust shields).
However, you only can make the upgrade with 340mm front rotors if you want to keep your original wheels.

As i know; C55 using 18" wheels, they should clear (360mm) as well, no need to change them, isn't..!

IMO; "Clk55/Slk55" (AMG 6-pot/4-pot) are the one of the best brake upgrade for many of MB models,,

really worth it with so easy fitment..
