C55 brake upgrade to 6/4 pot AMG calipers

Cls63 calipers on a C55
Hey whats up guys, just a couple questions In regards to 6/4 caliper design:
1. Whats the difference between the 6/4 calipers from slk55/clk55 vs the 6/4 calipers from a cls63/C63/E63(ect)? Would it just be the bracket and Braket bolt size?
2. Iffffff the calipers are all the same, will the 6/4 caliper set up (front and rear) from a 08 cls63 bolt up to a C55(front and rear)with out changing pads and rotors? Or would i at least need to change out the pads but not the rotors? Or vice-versa?
I might be doing this swap tomorrow but would like some insight first. Thanks guys👍🏼😎🏎💨

According to your pics., those calipers from 06-09 "W211 E63",,
*about Fronts:-
these calipers uses (M14) bolts, but your spindle holes are (M12),
need to re-drilled spindle holes around (2.3mm/2.5mm),
those "E63" calipers are wider than "CLK55/SLK55" calipers, cause they comes with (36mm) thickness, while "CLK55/SLK55" calipers uses (32mm) thickness,
*about Rears:-
they will NOT fit, due to differ holes mounting points,
E63 calipers comes with (90mm) holes mounting points, but "CLK55/SLK55" calipers comes with (75mm) holes mounting points..!!
**if you need to go with these calipers, will need some mods. to fit them properly..

Gm, Dang thats awesome info brother, ty! I did notice the mounting points on the rear calipers were wider, so i figured that might be an issue. And yes, ur right about the bigger/thicker bolt. last question is, if i made the front calipers work, could/would i still be able use my stock 345mm rotors or would i HAVE to utilize the 360mm rotors?
I think most 6/4-8/4 calipers(non 030)amg utilize 330mm for the rears? I checked all C/E/Cls 63’s and they all use the 330mm rear same for the “55”, 8/4 version of these models.

Yeah ur right, hopefully, i can make the front calipers work. I can use the rear caliper from the E/Cls/Cl(ect) 55’s instead. Luckily, i had purchased the rear calipers separately A few months ago.

Unfortunately; "345mm" has small Rotor pads area to covers "E63" pads,
"360mm" is the smallest Rotors can be used with any (6/8) AMG Front calipers,
you can use "320mm/330mm" Rear Rotors with any AMG Rear calipers, but the key with Rotor height for brake shoes fitment..!

Yup yup did some more research and thats exactly what i found out, but check this out... the older 4piston calipers off the “55” models, use the same bolt size and pattern as the newer 4pistons off the “63’s”. Last pic is the two rear calipers attached w the same bolt. Just thought id share that. But thanks so much for ur help brother! 🙌🏻😎👍🏼

You're correct for sure bro.,
All 4-pot "55/63" Rear calipers, uses (M12x35), Except "CLK55/SLK55" calipers, which is (M10x30),,
you can simply put (1.5mm) sleeve, or use shoulder bolts with (M12X1.5) pitch..

and used with "W211 E63 wagon" & "W219 CLS55" & "W230 SL55",,
have to get calipers from:-
03-06 "W211 E55" or "W215 CL55" or "W220 S55" or 04-10 "CLK55/SLK55", with (75mm)..!

Hey mate,
W219 CLS55 using 2 differ bolt patterns (75mm or 90mm),
All W203's uses (75mm), accept C63, which uses (90mm),,
prefer to check the bolt pattern first..

Just wondering for the front discs - can these be used instead of the brembo 2 piece discs:

(For calipers taken from 2005 SL55 R230 - fitting onto my W203)
Thanks!

Did anyone ever generate a master part lists for a straight bolt-on conversion?
The SLK55 caliper part numbers look wrong to me based on my google searches of the part number.
I want to put the bigger rotors\calipers on, but this is not easy to follow.
Specifically the part numbers for:
If they're listed here, I apologize, but I do not see the part numbers.
If anyone has a master parts list that I to order from, it would be appreciated!!

Over the holiday week I did a brake conversion on my 2006 C55. I know this subject's been covered on this board multiple times and I found it very resourceful. However, I think I found a much cheaper option for the front brake rotors than any that have been covered here, so sharing it with the audience.
I sourced 6/4 piston brake calipers from an non 030 package 2006 SLK55. The process was a relatively straightforward bolt-on project which cost me approximately $1,800 in parts. Below are the parts I used:
SLK 6/4 piston calipers (salvage parts $1000)
Front Brembo rotors (Amazon $250-$280/piece) part #09.9254.33
Rear Bosch rotors (Rock Auto $63.99/piece) part #36011506
Front pads Centric (Rock Auto $29.79/set) part #10411160
Rear pads Centric (Rock Auto $20.99/set) part #10409840
Motive pressure bleeder (Amazon $60)
This was a true bolt-on project. The only modification needed was to the rear dust shields, where some material had to be cut away to fit the larger calipers. I am extremely happy with the results and cost of the parts. Took me over a year to do the research and collect all the parts, but the final result was well worth it.
If anyone is curious about the AMG wheel shown, it's a C63 wheel with spacers.
Thanks to the board for all the good information.

Do you know if the 360mm x 32mm front brake rotors will fit on my '05 C55 without the need to make a new bracket for the 6/4 pot front calipers? I just ordered the front calipers from MB 003-420-67-83/68-83. The 340mm rotors (Brembo) are available @ $266 each.
Please let me know asap as I've got a small "time window" to get this project done which also includes installing Bilstein B6's.
Thanks...
Rob

Would it be possible to share a photo of the bracket your friend made for the 360mm rotors for the 6/4 pot front calipers?
Thanks...
Rob
