Dead Pedal
I guess this would be a question for those that don't live in a dry climate. Is there a nice alternative to the stock carpet that I rest my left foot on (I believe this is called the dead pedal). I have been looking around, but have not seen much that looks like a quality product. In Vancouver your feet get wet alot and I would like to prevent wearing out and dirtying the carpet too quickly. It's the only part that gets dirty quickly and is showing wear.

see if I had known that I would have tried harder to find carlsson pedals instead of caving and going with the OEM ones

Harris can get the Carlsson ones. I know they exist because I personally saw a normal Carlsson set, and also a dead pedal. These are nice quality.
The Carlsson dead pedal could be bought singularly... it would match your OEM pedals OK and still look good on a Carlsson car.
My car is AMG, so I just got the el-cheapo ebay AMG dead-pedal and it mathes OK with the OEM "dots pedals". (The ebay AMG one has slats for the rubber, not dots, but is says AMG, and the materials are the same, so it doesn't look out of place.
Buying just the Carlsson dead pedal would be a similar setup. One plus for you, the Carlsson dead pedal is a "dots" design too

BTW the dead-pedal mounting is less than perfect, but it works AOK.
[This would be true for any of the dead pedals], below the carpet is a thick wedge of hard foam, so you simply drive the screws into the foam. But if you push hard on the pedal the foam will compress a little bit. Its OK, but less than perfect.
I like having the dead pedal, a lot.
