Need new wheels need help with wheel & tire size

Hello everyone I am looking for some new wheels for my 06 c55 amg. I got the car and it came with old 17" clk wheels with winter tires and I want to get new 18" wheels. I really like how the BBS rims look but idk. But ya so what is the biggest tire I could get on my friend said you can get a big tire one like 295 or 285 without and rolling and modding is that true I would love some 245 front and 285 rear and if that will fit what will my wheel specs need to be? right now I'm looking at 18x9.5 and what offset will it need to be? sorry I know nothing about wheel and tire size.

245s up front are easily do-able. May rub the fender liner or bottom perch cover at full lock though. 265 rears are as wide as you can call the on a stock setup and even then, I got rubbing on near-full compression on the driver's side only. Some report no rubbing at all with 265s? I dropped down to 235s front, 255s out back.

One guy races with 285s, but said it took a lot of trial and error and rolling of fenders.

I usually run 19's on my car, but haven't experimented with max width up front. I think I'm running 235/30/19 right now, but the car is at home and I'm at work so can't verify. I do know my wheels had 285's on the back, on a 9.5 wheel, and rubbed slightly on the inner fender. A small spacer or different offset would correct that.

285s ? You'd be 1 of 2 on here I've heard running those and the only one who ran them with no fender work.

I stand corrected. I dug around old pics til I found that set, and turns out I was rubbing with 275/35/19 Continentals.

Yeah, I toy with the idea of selling them from time to time, but then swap them onto my wagon, or run a different set of wheels for a while, and realize I could never sell.

Oh thats to bad I really wanted to have 285 in rear I think it would look pretty good small car with fat tires. Will I guess Ill go with 235 front and 255 rear if i can only do 265 not worth spending more money on tires then.

You had 19" wheels with 275 tires wait so do you think 285 will fit on wheels that are 18x9.5 with an offset of 32? BTW I love that wagon I think they are so sick and cool I have seen a video of a guy ls swapping one of those.

I can't guarantee 285's will fit, but probably safe to run. For what it's worth, my rear wheels are 45et.

Six is good, eight is better, why not go a full dozen cylinders?
