key west to milford ct. total driving time 25 hrs.
avg speed 67 mpg. 23.1 mpg.

car worked flawlessly, a treat to drive for 18 hrs. i was tired last 5 hrs but 6 cups of coffee did the trick. Declined help from wifey in driving but in retrospect will take up offer in future.

enjoyed an approx 1 hr 90 mph blast through alligator alley. did great time through VA, Nc, SC, GA with the 70 mph speed limit, most everyone was going 85. so i did 87-90

weirdest sighting was a delorean hooked up as the back to the future car, south bound on i95 in NC.

looking forward to another long road trip later in the year, to new orleans.

oh yes....no use of cruise control at any point.

call me stupid.. but going from FL to CT, shouldn't you going North bound??

anyways, speaking of I-95, the best time to drive on it is after dark.. i was going from NC to VA. and i caught up with a caravan of 6 cars - 4 sedans 2 mini vans, all doing 90-95mph, occassionally hitting 100mph.. it was a fun drive.. i managed to get in between the 6 cars so i was safe if a cop had clocked someone in front or the rear.. good times..

the delorean was heading south , i was heading north. I saw him across the median but the speed differential was about 160 mph so he vanished out of sight at the end of my triple take.

i did follow someone for a bit going 95 mph but was too nerve wracking ie i was watching for a cop so backed off instead of risking a ticket.

i did leg from northern VA from 10 pm arriving home 5.00am. so traffic was good, just trucks.

funny thing. didn't see many benzs or bmws but finally running through alligator alley 5 or 6 passed going the other way, including 2 M3s.

around DC area going down to FL i encountered a fixed up vw jetta ("bora" badge in back) car looked nice. he followed me 15 miles until there was break in traffic he gunned past me, i jumped on it and caught him in no time and flashed pass. i backed out at 120 as i was closing on traffic. he caught up , waved, gave me a thumbs up and exited. otherwise no other "encounters" did pass a 360 but it was on a transporter so i can't claim a "kill" i suppose. :-)

another awesome road trip - back to florida keys via orlando and to asheville nc on way back.

my son was snorkeling one day and snowboarding the next!

another 90-100-120 mph blast across alligator alley....this time lots of nice cars seen......high point automotively was running 80-95 mph for 1/2 hr along side and behind a porsche carrera gt through fort lauderdale......what an awesome car! sounds mean....wish the driver had pulled a gear on me to show what 600+ hp (and $440,000) could do......but i wasn't playing boy racer so perhaps he felt no need to dust me off.......!!!!

the weather held nicely so made the trip on the PS2s....soon as i got back it snowed....yesterday the wife was stuck in driveway spinning tires.....have to rotate the blizzaks back on.........

reading my initial post kinda sad re the intended new orleans trip. wanted make it last spring but flew away for vacation......too bad.
