Lightweight brake components for C32

Anyone know of aftermarket brake components (discs, calipers, etc.) which would be significantly lighter than the OEM stuff, without major downside in terms of braking performance?

the brembo GT brake kit is about 10lbs less (don't quote me on that #) than the AMG kit. and it is bigger in rotor size also it looks better!

Is that 10 lbs/wheel (total of 40 lbs.) or 10 lbs total weight loss?

Vomm-eee,

The Brembo shaves off 13 lbs on each front corner. The total is a savings of about 26 pounds unsprung. I think that if you change the the rears out you will probably get another 10 pounds on that but I am not sure.

The limitation of the kit is that you need to have at least 18" wheels because it is larger than the stock brake kit.

I have one that I purchased a little while back and I am probably not going to be putting them on my car. It is brand new and still in the box - never used. I need my car in the winter and I don't want to buy another set of 18" wheels for the winter just to accomodate the brake kit.

PM me if interested.

You might check if ZMI is working on something for the C32. They have 14" rotors @ 5.1 lbs. and calipers even lighter...

Not sure if anyone else watch Sports Car Revolution on Speed Channel, they are doing a build up of an Acura RSX and installed a big brake kit from StopTech. After install they dyoned the car and lost 12hp to the wheels. I thought the stoptech kits were light weight, but guess I was wrong. Of course the larger rotors also contribute to the HP loss.

they are lightweight, but... RSX's stock brake system is not nearly as heavy as our C32's brakes.
