Genuine MB trans fluid or Shell ATF 134/ FUCHS 134?
I've been wanting to do a tranny flush for a while now. I haven't done one even when I bought the car. My mechanic said it was fine so now I had him recheck 11k miles later and he says it's definitely time for one. In my cart, I have the genuine filter, genuine gasket/seal, genuine clip and all I need is the fluid (unless I need more parts for a tranny flush kit like the conductor plate etc). I've read that Fuchs was a supplier for mb but then read that it was actually Mobil and Fuchs wasn't ever approved.
I was reading some old posts and saw some member upgraded to a better fluid for the 7 speed autos and saw no problems other than some people experience shift delays or lighter feel if that even is a problem.
I don't know what fluid is currently in it so my gut says to go with the genuine fluid because of how sensitive transmissions can be to different fluids. What do y'all recommend? Shell atf is under 10 a quart and double for the mb fluid.

Pretty sure they are the same thing. My trans had some sweet metal shards in the fluid so I used max life and its been working fine.

Replace the 13 pin electrical connector and seal while you’re at it as they are cheap and leak frequently.
I did do some research when changing my trans fluids and found the new 7 speed blue fluid is backward compatibile to the 5 speed red fluid.
I have not installed the blue 722.9 fluid in the 722.6, but I have a dozen quarts ready when needed.
Currently have both MB label (they don’t make their own), and Fuchs used in my 5 speeds I’ve changed. No issues.
Only have used MB label in my 7 speed as they are fragile compared to the 5 speed, and it was still under warranty.

ive been doing a small amount of reading on max life but so far it's been positive. I might go this route instead since I can pick it up near me when the parts get here. Thanks for the input
