odd options on c55

No logic7 sound
Sirrius Sat an option?
No folding back seats?

No big deal just figured the sat radio would be standard and at least the logic7 as an option.

Btw, Anyone know if there's a spare?

thnx

What makes you think the rear seats don't fold down?

re-read the options list and

logic7 is standard, my bad.

it's says 60/40 fold down rear seats are avail options on every other model except for c55 where it indicates "not available". No idea why.

That can't be: the car would be pretty useless without folding rear seats.

collapsible tire

In the manual of my 2005 C230 it talks about the C55 AMG also. Under the practical hints section under the section marked "Removing the vehicle tool kit (C 55 AMG only)" there is a picture of a collapsible tire. It talks about it on page 330 and 334 of the Operator's Manual for the 2005 C Class Sedan.

thanks re: tire info

Makes sense they started adding them in later models c32's so I figured they probably would.

The W211 E55 is not available with folding rear seats, although it is available throughout the rest of the E-class line. A fold-flat front passenger seat is even available on some of the other models.

I seriously doubt it has to do with a more rigid body structure, I think it has more to do with reducing ordering options.

I believe Sirius Satellite Radio is not an option on any other Mercedes car. It is an accessory installed in the USA.

Also, the installation kit might not be available yet, as the 2005 models have updated sound systems.

no its the more rigid body structure, i read it somewhere(sorry cant remember where)...the rear bulkhead on a car(between back seats and trunk) is an important part of the car that reinforcements can be added for a rigid structure...and AMG cars need that rigidity for their suspensions...

That's odd. Why is it then that my C32's back seat can fold down?

Just because you read it somewhere doesn't make it true. You may have read it on mbworld, where people post things that are untrue all the time. If you looked at the metal and the way it is mounted on the W211 E55, you would understand what I am saying.

Sirrius Sat an option?
Can be added by dealer later. (Same as E-class or S-class)

No folding back seats?
Is standard on C55, not a option.

No big deal just figured the sat radio would be standard and at least the logic7 as an option.
Logic 7 is standard on C55 again.

Btw, Anyone know if there's a spare?
Has spare.

So with all this options available for as standard on C55...are you buying? or..............

It's really hard not to buy one. And yet of course I'm still a little torn.

It's just the looks really. MB a little too conservative for me. On inside great on outside it doesn't quite fit me. Still nothing is dead on. Porsche (I think too small for dog) and 645 (a little too "slow" for the money) come closest to what I like. then s4, m3, and c55.

s4 best all around deal I think but been there. M3 a little to ricer c55 a little too...executive.

Don't get me wrong it's a very good looking car it's just personal opinion.

Will decide this week.

PS I'm still pretty sure no fold downs but not a deal breaker.

Get a S4 Avant if you got the dog.

Now I'm confused. You say the C32 is too conservative, though you like the S4. Isn't that car even more conservative? Not that I have anything against it, I actually like it very much. Then you say the M3 is too rice. But isn't that what you are looking for(not conservative)?

kind of long...and cheesy.

Right. I can see how audi and mb are both on the conserv side of the spectrum. I just happen to like the audi more b/c I think it's more modern/minimalistic as compared to mb which I think is more classic.

m3; No not rice. May be more it's rep that's hard to get away from. If I just saw one and didn't know that cops and fast & furious crowd loved it I wouldn't think it was "rice". Just aggressive.

As nice as any of these cars are none "moves" me the way something like a 911, amv8, xkr and even 645 (sort of) does.

I guess it's kind of hard spending 60+ on a car and not visually loving it. (even harder to spend 80+ on any car period).
