C55 EPA Estimates: 16 City/22 Highway MPG

Just checked out a C55 on the showroom floor of one of the local dealers, figured I'd post this info as I haven't seen it anywhere else yet.

EPA Gas Mileage Estimates:
16 mpg city
22 mpg highway

=> translates to $1,300 Gas Guzzler tax (a.k.a. the Pro-SUV anti-powerful-sedan tax )

EPA Pollution Index is 1.0.

This puts it at 1 mpg worse in the city and 1 mpg better on the highway as compared to the C32.

Their machines couldn't measure through all that whiteness.

I had a chance to drive one at the AMG Challenge, I can't see an AMG profile driver getting 16 in the city - probably closer to 12 or 13. Combined would end up at 17 - just a guess. The car is small and quick and rewards the heavy footed with many smiles per mile.

Saw it at Smythe. If you still want to look, get there before 11AM tomorrow because that's when it's getting picked up!

OK, so it's not fully broken in yet, but my C55 has only averaged 11 city and 19 hwy. That's way worse than my M3... hope it gets a little better.

Mileage is slightly better this weekend, so the engine must be loosening up a bit. On the fwy it squeeked up to 20.5mpg...

C55 owners:

So let's say you fill up the tank on a Monday morning and under normal driving coditions (ok...an occasional punch here & there, it is an AMG), when do you have to fill her up again?

I think i can go a week. A full tank usually gets me 215 miles.

Arg. My commute alone is 200 miles/week. When I was using the C32 as a daily drive, I had to fill it up more than once a week if I wanted to stay out of the reserve. For some reason I just hate that. The Lexus has a 22 gal tank and I can go nearly 2 weeks. I don't mind paying for fuel, but I prefer to fill up no more than once a week!
