Crossfire SRT-8

The new Chrysler Crossfire SRT-8 has basically the same engine as our C32 and the SLK32...is it to be welcomed gladly or to be considered an abomination? Personally, I feel kind of violated...the vaunted AMG engine from the C32 in a Chrysler???!!! Granted they are the same company now...but still...it's a Chrysler, no less one with Celine Dion driving around in it singing her heart out in the commercials. Just my opinion.

I don't think it's that bad.

After all it is only a Chrysler by name as this car is as German as an AMG (build in Osnabrueck, Germany).
From a profitablity standpoint, this is a great way to sell aging technology as new in a different package (which btw are designed to be unable to compete with the AMG product anyway)

I feel more violated by the AMG body kit on the C230 sedan than the motor in the SRT-8.

i think both are ****ty and i said it before, this is why i wont get another MB. How would M drivers feel if their engines started popping up in Minis, and thats better than Chrysler!

Actually, don't buy M-cars either! BMW service sucks and their customer service is useless. Thank goodness, the 3-series are built relatively well (least problems among BMW cars)...still, dealing with BMW service people is just too stressful.

I am getting a boring Lexus next time...maybe an Infiniti. I want my *** to be kissed if i am spending this much $$$$!

Personally I'd be more pissed off that you wasted money on a blown six when you could have had a bigger eight.

AMG will never see my business anyway, auto's suck.

i second that completely. amg is not exclusive enough with its parts, and while the SRT has the same engine, it's still not the C32, but a Crossfire. the C230 on the other hand is directly trying to be an AMG imo.

I fell the same as you guys with the SRT-6.. The crossfires handling and steering really sucks and isn't worth the mighty V6 Kompressor.. oh well, just say to yourself "at least I don't have that butt ugly chrylser badge on the rear of my car"

It seems that BM service there and MB service here is about the same.

I thought car and driver said it had really good steering and handling. I mean, it made good lap times with a relatively anemic 200-something hp engine.

I personally like the Crossfire. However, for the same price as an M3....

the steering felt a bit too stiff for me.. was more like a airplane than a car. Didnt give me road-feedback at all..
