When removing the IC pump...

If I remove the intercooler pump without draining the coolant from the radiator or anywhere, would coolant free flow out once the IC is removed from the car?

Because I just removed the IC pump and barely saw more than 5 drops of coolant coming from the tubes. Does this suggest a blockage of sort further upstream?

I’m pretty sure a good amount should leak out; I believe it’s connected to the main coolant supply. My original pump was swapped out a few months back along w/ a coolant flush.

Pls don't take my word on this though. My first car w/ an SC, I can tell you this much the new pump made it run like a different machine.
