I’m sorry but I might be beating you to the punch here but.....its time to see double! Times like this I wish I still had my C32 with these wheels! But I passed the torch to SMGC32 and he seems to be doing a good job representing RENNtech!

But the real question is do you have these? :v

Can't wait to see your pics. Curious to see the difference between the SMG's ride height on the Carlsson Coil-Overs vs the RENNtech springs.

WOW I think we should talk!

The RENNtech springs are great items. I would say they are the best spring for the car in every case. But if you want something you can drive down a canyon road at the limit or take to the track and push to limit, the Carlssons are for you. RENNtechs still ride very well but the Carlssons are very firm even on the softest setting. It is a little firmer than stock but when you hit a large bump you really feel it. Changes in road elevation do not go unnoticed. I love the Carlssons and swear by them. All depends on what you are looking for.

As for ride height, remember the Carlssons are 100% adjustable so you can set it where you see fit!

So Benzo where are thsoe pic!

Wow! Those RENNtech wheels look great.

For street driving, the RENNtech's are the best in comfort and provide a nice lowered ride height like the car should have come stock. Coilovers will provide a significant reduction in ride height if that is what you are looking for. In the previous pics on the street, I am at 13.0" front, 12.5" rear. I could go to a maximum low of about 12.675" in the front and reach about 11.0" in the rear but this would look rediculous and not be drivable on the street. In addition, you risk blowing a strut over a large bump if too severe. Notice that the lower you go in the front, the more offset the centerline of the wheel is towards the front to the centerline of the front fender arch. In the brake photos, I am at 13.5" front, 13.5" rear, or about where the RENNtechs would be.

I am curious. With the C55's wider front track of 10mm, how do the RENNtech's fit. Are you running 18's or 19's? Hold a straight edge up to the tire's rim bead, starting from the floor and extending up to the fender. Does the straight edge touch the fender lip or the tire rim bead at that point? What is the measurement in or out? Body panel fitment does vary between the same model. No one has yet upgraded their wheels on a C55 so this is valuable information. Maybe MB has produced a different front fender configuration for the C55 to accomodate the wider track?

Sorry, you have a C32, not a C55. But measure it anyway if you have a chance. Thanks.

Well, I guess coilovers are for me. I like the fact that I can adjustable height. I also like what some people don't, a harsh ride. I don't know why, but I like the way it feels, lol. I would be getting the H&R coilovers though, not carlsson. Also, it seems from the pics your car is still lower looking then with the renntech springs.

Since you posted your car with RENNtech Springs I can now post what I used to have. This was my car with RENNtech springs and RENNtech front camber bushings set to -2 degrees of camber (mad the car 200% more responsive up front... having poly bushings really helps). Notice how the eccentric bushings push the wheel out and effectively increase the front track. I want that car back! If I had it back it would look a whole lot like SMG’s car but Desert Silver. Oh well… on to new toys…. That are all stock … boo hoo!

The last pic shows Stock vs. RENNtech front ride height. The black car belongs to JustinTRW.

The man with the Supercharged W208! Now that car is a beast! How is it treating you?

Do you mind me asking what Maridian charged you to buy that car used? I bet you got a fairly good deal given what they invested in that car!

It looks like we are going to have to create the Monolite Club!

In 18", the fronts are 8.5 ET32, the rears are 9.5 ET36.

The H&R coilovers are not stiff at all. In fact they are more compliant than the stock set up, as are the RENNtech springs. Not much different between the two set up in observed valving or spring rate, but the H&R's are adjustable of course. Most who own coilovers set their ride height once and never change it again. You can change the rear ride height by utilizing different springs pads as you know. The heights on the RENNtech's are near perfect for cosmetics. The H&R's are a matched set of springs and shocks. So are the RENNtech springs which were matched to the stock AMG shocks. No one has yet to blow a front strut with the RENNtech spring which is the argument against lowering springs with stock shocks. The Carlsson's are much stiffer, as are the PSS-9's. You may want to look at the KW V2's which offer rebound adjustability in a coilover design. A few members here have them and like them very much.

How many of you Monolite owners have the RENNtech decal on the wheel spoke?
