C32 722.6 P2500
hello i own a c32 amg and it kindof shifts harshley between 2nd and 3rd gear, i took it to my local shop for mercedes and they said that my radiator is leaking a lot of transmission fluid and i was 2.5 quarts low on fluid. i filled the fluid up and it shifts a little better but not nearly good enough. they told me i need a new radiator and fittings and if that doesnt fix the transmission then i need a new plate and solenoids. then if that doesnt work i need a new transmission. they priced me all of this stuff at about 600$ a piece and after doing the math, it doesnt make sense to spend all that money to see if my transmission is actually broken or not just to find out it is and have to spend all that money again on a new transmission and instalation and shipping etc....... so whats my best bet. go buy the tranny or should i try to fix this one. ofcourse the first thing i will do is the radiator but i want to build this car into something i can keep, ive been in love with this model of car since a small child and i originally wanted a e55 but i went for the c32 because of the price difference. its just 600+600+600 is 1800$ and i can get a new tranny installed with purchase for about 25 so what should i do? the other day it had a horrible neutral bomb in third gear i was driving and i punched it then all of a sudden i had no power to the wheels. the trans felt like it was in neutral but it was in drive and my engine was just revving up when i pressed the gas, i pulled over restarted the car and it was fine drove perfectly back home but every once and a while it just jerks all over the place and it feels like something is actually broken. ALSO one thing i dont understand is if the tranny was overheating due to the lack of fluid and they put more fluid in, and it still shifted harshley, i understand it was leaking, but i dont see the fluid as the solution to my problem, as it is important i am trying to get my transmission to work properly not just make it hopefully work properly. it also throws codes p2500 and i dont want to play a guessing game with this car, i want to go full on everything working perfectly and after that i want to do some performance mods to it but i am held back by this major problem and i feel like the guessing game is a good way to empty my pockets

Your rad leaked anti freeze into the transmission.
You have probably contaminated transmission oil?
Worst thing that could happen to your tranny is it might break down on you?
Early Valeo rads were known to leak on C32, if your rad haven't been changed since new, there's your problem.
This will be an expensive job.

You can do a glycol test.
https://forums.mercedesclub.org.uk/i...ol-test.83693/
If the coolant was in transmission, it is damaged.

I'm in a similar boat to you with my C32 trans, although mine is mainly having issues when taking off from a stoplight, acts like it is in neutral and then suddenly slams into gear. I'm looking at purchasing a rebuilt trans from Sun Valley Mercedes in Los Angeles to get installed. They seem to have good reviews https://www.mercedesdismantlers.com/index.html
