Based on your comments as seen quoted above, I take it when you all reffer to "cats" you are reffering to the catalyst converters (just in case, the "cats" are being miss-labeled for the mufflers which are right at the rear bumper). If that is the case --and you all are reffering to the catalyst converters being removed from your vehicles--, if any of you could share how does any of your vehicles could possibly pass the smog inspection???... without the catalyst converter, regardless what is done on the car, the levels of smog would not clear on mostly any US state (it is possible however, that the new exhaust systems you've all may have installed, that each system may have come with new catalyst converters, however, that piece of information has not been shared on your comments).
Mr. MgnFicnT:
If you could post pictures of the underside of your car so that the piping set up can be seen, it would be appreciated.
Just in case, from a previous post, I am re-posting the diagrams for the possible exhaust configurations on W203 chasis. Out of the headers, on each pipe, the first sort of "buble" in the piping on each pipe correspond to the catalyst converter aka "cats"
