Talking ...I'm Baaaack! After 8 years, I again have another C55

It's been a long time coming but I am excited to be able to have another one of these fantastic machines. I had dreams about my old C55 and nothing else would make me as happy as another C55 would.

I sought out to find a Mars Red C55, which is rare. I read somewhere there that there were only 20 brought to the US in 2006 but I'm not sure about those numbers. I had a Mars Red C230 prior to my C55 so it's bringing the best of both worlds. Regardless, I will have my 2006 C55 in Mars Red delivered likely by the end of this month as it's coming from Spokane, WA and i'm in the Chicago land area. It's relatively low mileage at 83K and the service record history was very extensive and clean, usually serviced at MB dealer. It was for sale at MB of Spokane - I wonder if this was a former member's car?

My first order of business is to make the wheels silver again and take the tint off. I already have an airbox on hold from Speed43.
Over the course of the year, I want to add MBH long tubes and also re add the mufflers that the previous owner chopped off Likely a Eurocharged ECU/TCU too.
I would also like to add CF front lip, diffuser and spoiler as well as Di Noc or 2080 wrap my silver interior pieces/fraying door handles.

I plan to keep this car forever, I hope I never do have a need to sell it.

PJ, thank you! I love me the Mars Red and I see why you love it too. I’ve seen you on the FB forum. Your stance is PERFECT. What is your suspension setup? Wheels? That stance is perfection man..

Thank you, amgen! It really is awesome to have one again. Last time it was my DD but now I get to have it as a fun car- although it could totally be a DD.
Really excited to get going on mod process.

A quick update - Car isn't here yet but I have purchased the following:

CLK63 BS Motor and Trans Mounts
Valve Cover Gaskets
NGK IX Plugs and new wires
Kleemann Headers (Mid length - was going to do MBH but I spent that extra 1K elsewhere - NOT saying they are not worth it though!!!)
Speed43's Airbox
and last but not least, I got myself a pair of C55 stock mufflers since the previous owner decided to chop them off lol
I'll get the Eurocharged Tune again as well once everything is done.

Some Carbon Fiber is due in the near future - anyone know of a reputable source for CF Lip, spoiler, diffuser or should I just go the ebay route?
I also really want to do the CarID Carbon Fiber overlay interior kit. Kind of worried about it since it's an overlay however.. it's either that or wrap the trim in DiNoc.

What's the benefit of the CLK63 BS trans and engine mounts? Or is this to fit headers?

Last I heard they are a lot stiffer and they last a lot longer

Yup, what PJ wrote. Stiffer and last longer. I’m not even sure I needed them but I want to start fresh with everything.

are they plug and play or do you need to make some small tweaks?

fairly certain these are plug and play, Quick. Since I am doing headers, it would be the ideal time to change out the mounts.

I'm about to follow in your footsteps. I currently have a C55 but I'm about to add a SLK55 to the stable. That was my first true introduction to the Mercedes brand and I need a V8 convertible in my life again.

on those motor mounts. How much more expensive are they than stock c55 motor mounts. The car goes in to have those installed next Friday.

Nice man! Convertible's are fun although i've never had one myself. Maybe down the line. I use FCPEuro for my parts. It looks like the standard motor mounts are about $80 for the pair and the black series mounts are 200. If you do the whole kit and get the trans mount too, it's a $400 kit.
