I'm the original owner, purchased in January 2005. It's a no rain / snow car, and I drive it regularly - weather permitting. Chicago should have some rain this week to wash the roads and I'll probably drive it next week. It's just never been driven as a daily driver type car. Meaning, It's driven roughly 30 - 50 miles start to stop to ensure all fluids are fully at operating temp and run long enough to burn off rich cycle fuel and moisture. I was at about 1,000 miles per year - now I'm down to about 500. Then back to climate control storage. I have retrofitted over 10 OEM options - some of which replacement parts are no longer available. I'm becoming worried that if I or someone wrecks the car - I'll never be able to replace or repair it.

Thanks for the reply, I'm at 195k on mine now. Although it really the road trip car and terrible weather car. I haven't found any issues finding parts for it, but I imagine at some point it may become difficult to locate C55 only parts. What did you retrofit to it?

6 piston / 4 piston 030 brakes (360 mm front). Style III wheels to accommodate the big brakes. Parametric speed sensitive CLK63 steering rack. Quaife Limited slip diff. Linguatronic voice control. rear park assist sensors. power folding mirrors. V2 Navi that would have come on the 2007 models. Paddle shifters rather than the buttons. Factory OEM Bluetooth telephone and iPod systems. DS / PS Front only lit door sills - the OE kits are for sure no longer available and were only offered front. The OEM / Factory offered Affalterbach crest shift knob - not the stick on. It came from the client specialization shop. Digital climatronic. I also have the correct ventilation system to truly make it a dual system - but it is not installed. Just the controller is installed. If I ever decide to take on that project - I'll install the front park assist sensor system at the same time. The speed limiter was coded out by Affalterbach as well and I've taken the car to the 170s easily.
Everything is OEM, including the wiring, wiring color and correct connectors. All ECUs were either swapped or updated to be coded correctly with DAS.

Sounds like a sweet example. Any pics?

I'm not sure about 2006 models. The Code is 500. Decode your VIN and look for that code.

Unfortunately - there is paintwork, but nevertheless, has to be the lowest mileage car out there.

You need to exercise your equipment. only 20k on that car is going to introduce more problems in the long run. You can't leave this stuff sitting idle. Live man.

There is a C55 listed on the MB Market. It is in Canada with very low mileage. I don’t know how hard it would be to import it to the US.

@tlambert the C55 was a much lower production model than the E55K, and honestly has fun as the E55K was when I bought it after totaling the C55, the shear power and torque start to feel normal, and then I wished I had the C55 still as it was a smaller lighter car. I think the C55 will be much more collectable than the E55K I just replaced the E55 with a 2013 bi-turbo E63, it has that same crazy power, but feels light and nimble and handles really well.
