C55/M3/European Supercars competitors coming!!

Finally, Japan law has removed the 280hp engine power ceiling of their cars.
High car tax Asian countries will no longer be bounded to buy expensive European supercars any more !

2005 new Acura Legend AWD 3.5 litre V6 , 300hp
2005 Summer, Nissan Z350 35th Anniversay Edition, 3.5 litre V6 , expected min. 300hp
2006 new Nissan Skyline GTR (V36) 4.1 litre, expected min. 330hp

Most Jap 'supercars' like the current R34 GTR and Evo. 8 have well over 280ps in 'standard form' already - this has been proved by various car mags/dyno runs etc.

Perhaps they're going to start stating the REAL power figures from now on.

Any pix of the Skyline V36?

The funny thing that Skyline R34 GTR is 280bhp (as per specs) and it can out run almost all the european cars that are well over 330bhp.

Truely.
See if I can go back to the mag and check if any photos.
Just realised that NSX is only 300hp, guess it is already over the limit of the Japan laws. I have seen numerous mods of R34 which are way over 300hp , guess unmods ones are restricted to 280hp.

If what the mag said is true , the 4.1 litre GTR ( with or without mods) might kill the new M3.

300bhp from a 3.5L V6 is very very impressive for an NA saloon engine, how do they do it

Isn't that similar to Porsche's horizontally opposed flat six boxer engine? 3.6L makes 355hp and 3.8L makes 355 and you can add a power kit to increase hp. How do they do it? Sorry I miss my Porsches.

I am an idiot of moto mechanics. I only recall NSX makes the best efficient engine using VTEC technology.

white and whiter
the VQ35 from the V35 Skyline/G35/Fairlady Z is already rated at 280, so 300 should be easy to achieve for that engine. However the 3.5 V6 from the new RL/Legend that makes 300hp has a lot less torque than the Nissian unit. I still don't like engine w/ no torque and that's pretty much all the engines from Honda.

i thought the NSX was always rated at 280bhp?
