My New C55 just arrived

Just Picked my Silver C55 with ALL options. I love it. I traded in my 2004 M3 Coupe (6 speed) with all options. It was too small and not enough Torque. What a difference Folks.
Glad to join this forum....

Thankx ALL!!

Yeah. I will take pics and post them soon. What a difference!!
One question for all:
C55's shift knob top is sort of Empty "Silver color circle". An AMG or Benz star sign would look really Cool. Anybody researched this?

Can you elaborate as to why you went with a C55 over keeping your M3? Some of us are curious! Thanks.

Sure...
Considering I waited 3 month to get my M3 (Six speed with ALL options). I was dissapointed with the feel. Here are my main reasons to move on to C55:

- Too small. Needed 4 doors.
- Extremely whimpy exhaust and engine sound.
- Too much rattling.
- Driver Side Seat was too noisy. Took it to dealer 5 times.
- Too light
- Horrible NAV system.
- not enoug Torque.
- Six speed manual tranmission too noisy. I always heard clicking sound in first and second gears.
- Shape changing next year.

You might ask then why did I buy it? I LOVE cars, what can I say!! Always Loved the M3 shape and still do. I owned Clk430,C43 and E430. Loved the feel and power of V8. Could never go back to V6.

E55 is nice but 90K is simply *not* justifiable in my books.

Cheers..

Don't be too harsh on the BMWs. I own an M3 and a C32 and I love both cars for different reasons. The torque in the C32 and ride are great and the BMW out handles the C32. Both are great cars.

Thanks for the response, its always good to hear the reasons why someone switches from one car to another... even when they have to take a loss.

I am thinking about ditching my 2002 m3 cab for some of the same reasons. Mainly, it rattles WAY too much. Much of this has to do with my car being a cab but I can't live with it any more. Also, the ride has become too harsh to live with and the six speed shifts like crap. I test drove the C55 the other night and seems to have the perfect balance of comfort and performance. Even though it does not have a manual, the AT is excellent. It does not handle as well as the M3 but is good enough for me. At this point in my life I prefer a little more comfort.

Congrats and I hope you enjoy your new ride!

Yes I agree with you, an AMG sign would really work well here. I find it very wierd for that knob to be empty. O and Congrats on the new ride!
