response from them

"The price to coat a set of V6 headers,in&out with the sterling silver finish,is $195+s&h back. The price to coat the 6cyl intake (outside
only) is $110+s&h back. Add $20 for the flat black, blue or grey finish. We'll need them here for 3-5 days plus shipping time back.If the parts are chrome or nickel plated, add $40 to the total and 2 days for stripping.I will send you our full information package to get you all the coating benefits in greater detail."

"Technical benefits are as follows : Looks great, reduces under-hood temperatures by 50 degrees Fahrenheit and more, keeps pipes up to 50% cooler, Gives you 1-3% extra horsepower, extends average header life by at least 10 times"

wouldnt the labor to remove and replace the stock headers be a lot of $$ for the gains? Might as well get aftermarket headers if going through all that trouble

I haven't seen headers from a reputable firm for less than $3600.

header removal is 3-4 hours so depending on a shops hourly rate... 240-320 in labor, and that was on my impossible E36 M3 headers which are much harder to do than your stock ones. I have ceramic headers on my M3 and it made big difference in underhood temps, i can literally put my hand just centimeters from the header after it has been run hard for mintues and still cool, stock my hand would have melted off with the stock cast iron headers. steel runs slightly cooller but still very hot. Ceramic is the way to go. Power wise the ceramic coating along on NA cars is not that much b/c theres not nearly as much heat as a forced induction car. On turbo cars 10-15 wheel HP change is very common with ceramic coating.
