Pics of Black Birdseye Maple Wood in C55?

The one I drove today had aluminum and it doesn't look bad. Anyone have the Black Birdseye Maple Wood? I was wondering if it would look OK with a black interior. Just concerned it would get lost in all the black and not have enough contrast compared to the aluminum.

Comment? Pics?

I have the black birdseye maple with charcoal interior. I think it is beautiful. The maple is a black/purple color that has little "eyes" in it. Birdseye is a virus that maple trees can catch, and when they do, they develop a particularly beautiful spotted pattern inside.

I seem to remember pics of birdseye maple already being up...just do a search for c and birdseye maple or something. I think it works well with charcoal because the colors coordinate rather than contrast. If you are the type that likes contrast, which I don't, go with the brown poplar designo wood. I am happy with my choice though. Hope this helps.

I had the same wood on my ex W210 , so the C55 aluminium is very fresh for my eyes. I love the alum. when the first time I saw it on a CLK conv.
I recall someone posted the wood's photo....

Since I can't really tell from pics and the dealer did not have any cars for good comparisons when I went ... let me rephrase the question:

Did anyone get aluminum and then wish they got one of the woods (or vice versa) after having it for a while and seeing other interiors? Please include what type trim and color interior you have (or would like to have gotten) in your reply.

Rgds,
Norm

My preference....

I've seen the aluminum on the C55. I've also seen the black maple on the E55. Since I order black on black I would be spending the extra $775 for the burl walnut which I know works for me. It's warm without further darkening the interior.

I didn't think burl walnut and option for the C55 (US-spec).

If I had a choice when ordering my C32, I would have opted for the wood. I think it looks classier. I had to pay a Designo extra charge to get wood rather than the silver. The C55 owners should be happy they have more choices.

Wood option cost extra on C55 also. I don't mind paying ... I just wanted to get opinions on what looked best with black interior (rather than ash) and brilliant silver exterior. The one I drove had aluminum and there were no others I could look at to compare. My thought was that the birdseye maple might be too dark for the black interior and its beauty might not stand out. I'm not sure what the brown poplar wood would be like with black either. I guess I'll just have to visit another dealer in the hopes of seeing the other choices but opinions are helpful too.

I was under the impression that you had a choice of wood or silver with the C55. Maybe I misinterpreted the links here somewhere. Anyways, Birdseye maple is my vote. If you are planning on keeping the car, it is worth it if you have to pay up front to feel you drive something of a bit higher quality.
