Mr. Psychoburn:
Where are the pics of the kit???... I even looked under my desk...![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
If you can, besides the beautiful pic of your invoice, see if you can post pics of the entire kit plus installation pics as well

neoprufrok:
got it from bergwerks in van nuys
2300+ for the lsd
1100 for install
Apparently the install isn't all that easy. Instead of just switching the diff.. it has to be modded. The gears have to be grinded or something and then the LSD put on.

The LSD is coming in on monday. When I bring my car in, i'll be sure to take some pics!

Well, I think its well worth the investment. Trying to accelerate out of turns is a major limitation of the C55. Plus, an LSD will allow better traction on launch. I like this mod first.
It does seem a ilttle scary about the grinding and gear switching - but not all mods can be bolt on.

The planetary gears have to be ground (as in precision ground, like as in cylinder head) on a flat face to accomodate the locking mechanism. In the past we have included the gears with the kits, pre-machined. MB has made the planetary gears unavailable as a spare part so one has to machine the existing gears in the diff you are modifying.

From kleemann's website:
Overflow of engine-power is no good if it cannot be transferred into wheel traction. Therefore KLEEMANN has developed a Limited Slip Differential (LSD) with a 60 percent locking mechanism, which means that the mechanical devise applies a 60 percent lock-up ratio between the two drive wheels. In contrast to a standard ESP-system a Limited Slip Differential (LSD) is a very sporty and high-performance approach to control wheel spin thereby improving the cars traction.
At no time will only one wheel receive all the engines´power and by powering both drive wheels at the same time, the engine power is distributed more evenly, hence reducing wheel spin and in the end lowering accelerations times significantly.
Basically, it helps by making sure both of your wheels are spinning instead of only one spinning. Hope that helps

Yea, it looks something like that. AND i got my car back!!!! Some things noticed:
I've tested out the LSD, when I floor my car, the ESP will go off but my car will wiggle back and forth, showing the that LSD is in effect. Kleemann's LSD is only 60% locking.
I'll try to check my 0-60 times someday to see if the LSD helps the launch, which it's supposed to

Any comparisons with the AMG LSD that Harris sells would be good info if someone has any to share. I'm particularly interested if the AMG unit just drops in or if gears need to be modified like your unit did.
