Flat hood emblem to fit C55 recess.

I searched this board and E-bay. Seems that most flat hood emblems are 1-7/8" (48mm) dia. and this will not fit in the recess of the C55 hood but rather on top. I think to fit in the recess would require 1-3/4" (44mm) dia. and I prefer either an "MB" or "AMG" emblem. Some older posts mentioned a $150 AMG emblem that would fit in the recess but I have not been successful in finding that one.

Anyone know of a quality metal flat emblem that will fit inside the recess of the C55 hood?

If the C55 has a CLK55 nose, wouldn't that emblem fit? Too easy, I guess.

Rgds,
Norm

check e-bay.de as well.

I found a 1 5/8" AMG badge that fits like a glove on my CLK and my friend's C32. Metal and good quality...

No success at the .de site. Do you have a link or info to purchase? Any idea if your CLK would use same h/w to attach as my C55? I also like the monochrome look.

I'm sure it's the same hardware. I got mine on ebay, but have not seen them on there for about six months.

If you want the multi-colored AMG badge, there are some available. Plus, some folks on this site may sell the multi-colored badges.

Good luck

Thanks. Haven't seen any multi-color either (in 1-5/8 size to fit in recess). I'll just have to keep looking.

You might be correct, I am not sure. However, there are AMG badges that fit in the recess.

The stock hood star base is approximately 44mm in diameter. The MB flat emblem is 57mm, and one of the AMG badges is 45mm.

Norm,

This one has the same packaging as the one I purchased....

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33643

You may ask the seller to measure it for you.....seller may also know how to source the one I've got.

As discussed in IM, this one is larger and fits over the recess. Still have not found the monochrome you got. Anyone get the $149 color AMG emblem being sold on this site?

Norm if you happen to find an AMG emblem (black backround chrome AMG letters) in your search I'd love to know about it, in the meantime if I spot the monochrome you're looking for I'll let you know.

To be clear, the type I want fits in the recess, not on it. Is it possible the one you want is the same as the one I want? See pic in post by Chappy on page 1 of this thread, ... scroll down here

I like that one also ... as a 2nd choice.

I wish when people say they got something on E-bay they would IM or EM and provide seller info.

lol...made me think of this:

"My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy that knows this girl who's going with a guy who saw Ferris pass out at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it's pretty serious."

(Simone - Ferris Bueller's Day Off)

That's where I got mine :p
