Honestly, not saying in our city , we are packed with Mercedes, BMW. But really how often I can find someone to race a little on the highway? The answer is almost none. Not saying SLR, SL65, CL600, regardless the gorwing popularity of AMGs , M3s on the roads, most of the times I was just driving 'on my own'.
If you were seen on a C55, the other 'fast cars' drivers recognized your cars would immediately slow down; they slow down because they want to take a good look of a C55; or because they might just give up to ride any faster - why risk a ticket if there is no way to win? For those who did not recognize your car is a C55, they would not care until they found that you were 50kmh faster in fraction of a second! I still remember some proud S500 on the roads taking over the fast lane like nobody is around. And, you know the end result was always too late for them to find out who the hell was that driving a C-class like a mad dog!
I heard many of you in the States and Canada always hit into some racing opportunities on the roads. And, how often is that?

Haha !! We have many EVOs here but duuno where they went ? They must have some favourite places to race. Perhaps I always drive on highways and that's are the risky places to race or get pull over Originally Posted by Exekious

Yeah I am very lonely here. I never see M3's or C32's on the road, but they always show up when I am in a parking lot. I come back outside from Ikea and find a silver C32 parked right next to me, see M3's going the other way, but never on the same roads. It sucks.. Ever since I got the chip/pulley kit done, I haven't run into any fast cars.Originally Posted by cntlaw

Not too many opponents here either. I raced one E46 M3 in 7 months and didn't see another when I had my C32. Usually, you get the Rednecks in the raised pickup trucks with exhaust trying to fly by you or Jimmy-Billy-Bob in his 92 Rustang GT driving around like he's got an Enzo.
Not many opponents for the ///AMG or Viper...

Your title was rather suggestive
, as I was interpreting it otherwise. But yes, if you spend too much time with your AMG you will be getting lonely

Most people don't know what the car is and mistake it for just another C-class and don't waste their time racing. I personally enjoy lining up next to Hondas with big wings... And G35's which are everywhere. :p

Maybe this is a Chicago thing, but I've been "challenged" 3 times in the last week by guys driving Chrysler 300's what's up with that?
Forunatley there's quite a few M3 and S4 owners who always seem ready to run.

Must be an Arizona thing

I'm in arizona, and know plenty of people who would run you, with very very fast cars. Many of the people who used to race on a regular basis have stopped because of the Po-Po. A few recent very high profile accidents, and now "street racing" is a crime that ranks right up there with building weapons of mass destruction.

i see a lot of modified japanese cars on "tung long" (hk side)...they have huge exhausts, i think they would race with you...
or
u should try the roads going to SHek O ....tight mountain roads.
I have many friends who race there like 2-4AM in the morning.

Too many kids watched the Fast and the Furious and ruined it for the rest of us...
It was actually kind of funny. I remember seeing it in the Theater with one of my friends. I am not kidding when I say I saw more than one 16 year old drifting their dad's Ford Taurus in the parking lot that night.
I bet if I called 911 right now and said I saw someone racing, the helicopter would be out here faster than if I said someone was shooting at me.

When I was driving my Prelude VTEC some years back, I always got into some kind of "racings" on the road. Not when I was with the C55, the big exhaust Hondas most of the time knew who I was; they all seemed to slow down ....
And I guess most of the time, other drivers just don't notice that C class is a C55; I never met another C55 on the road ( my friend did, my wife did ).
I saw a lot of C32s , M3 but I was seeing them in the parking lots only.
I do not think there are more than 10 C55s in H.K. because its price is 20% more than an fully loaded M3. Most sensible buyers would rather get a CLK500 convertible for paying the same price of C55.
The disaster occasion was a black M3 was following me until we passed Tai Koo Shing, this guy passed me and he was really fast
and that I was too late even I was able to catch up a bit of distance behind him. The pity things were the wife and the 80 years old father-in-law in the car gave me a hard time (naturally). So, I gave up and I also got a ticket when I passed Taikoo Shing bridge
You are right, Shek-O is the place for challenges, I knew the roads well when I was with my 325i long time ago. Now I live in N.T., so I go there much less.
I believe regular drivers live in N.T. will not want to risk their licenses and they tend to own more fuel economy cars. The super cars racers here do not drive that often until they want to race.

At least , being on a C55 on the road, my last experience was a SL55 passed my face and tripled my driving speed (70kmh) at that time.
