is it normal when?????
lets say im driving off from a red light and hammer it in first. then just before it switches to second gear it seems like it stays there for 2 seconds first. almost like u hit something. all three times ive tried its done this. is this normal? never had any cars do this before. welll im at 1400 miles and going in soon for my 1k-3k check up. ill bring this up with service dept. any1 else???

I was talking cars with my dealers service manager tonight and during the discussion of transmissions he told me that the AMG transmissions do "pause" between gears when you nail the throttle as a way to "preservre" the transmission. I have noticed a slight pause on occasion, never 2 seconds, but occasionally it feels that long.

You've just given the answer why the AMG's and 4-matics are still only offered with the 5 speed transmission rather than the 7 speed.

Switch engine oil
Try switching your engine oil from Mobil 1 to Torco............ me and 2 of my buddies cars are using the same engine oil on their CLK 55 and C320 and the shifts are much smoother, you'll feel immediate diff right after your oil change.....
