c32/c55 -> CLS Replacement

Anyone here thought about replacing your C32/C55 to a CLS500/55 ?
Or have you ordered the CLS already? Which ?
Would like to know why.

'02 CLK 55 cabrio (sold), '03 C32 (sold), '04 R32 (sold), '04 911/X-51 (keeper)
love it...

I think the CLS is a very attractive car. My lease is up on my C32 in May of '06, and a CLS 500 will be one of a short list of cars I'll look at. While I would prefer the 55, I suspect those will still be trading in the $80-90k range (new) at that time, and with the others in my "fleet" that becomes a stretch financially. But I think the body style is beautiful, and while the CLS 500 won't run with my C32, it is a trade-off I am willing to make (as long as I still have the 911 for when I'm feeling frisky). I think the CLS 500 pricing will be about $3-5k more than the E class, so that puts a nicely equipped CLS 500 right around $65k right? I don't anticipate much of a discount on either model.

Right !
CLS500 is good enough for luxury and comfort

If you can hold off until the '07s come out, you should be able to get one of the new engines which will probably make a regular V8 CLS nearly as fast as your C32.

Conviently, my lease is up right about the time the 6.3L V8 AMG version of this beauty should hit our shores...

the CLS looks butt-ugly...and yes, pun intended. PLUS the 4 door coupe concept is stupid.

I agree that the 4-door coupe is a retarded idea, but damn, the CLS is burning hot. And just look at what tuners like Brabus and Carlsson have to offer for it, it's just irresistable.

It's got the badboy/mafia aggression to it with a refined and classy touch.

Right. I probably could affored to replace C55 with at most a CLS500 which is already USD 150K here. I 'd heard someone used the word 'ugly' to describe the CLS. I don't know about that how they devised that. The first look I had was in Bangkok Moto Show where I saw the CLS 6.1S Barbaus, it is not just beautiful and it is like a shining black shark ! If the CLS is ugly, then I guess half of the E class owners will have to trash their cars now.
Believe , CLS owners don't give a damn about what you say, their cars will be eqipped with the most luxury interior that MB ever created for sedans.
I like the idea of having only two seats at the back which your passengers will enjoy the comfort and space instead of squeezing or you need a big S for three to be seating comfortably in the back.
This is what I call Mercedes.
CLS rules :v

I like the CLS... I just like the S more and the prices are about the same.

I think the '07 will be a CLS630 and CLS63 AMG which should be around 400hp and 550hp respectively.

400hp is what I at most need for a C class size car
as I find I can accelerate the C55 with ease up to 177kmh
I always like the S soon as I am older for it ( 50 age is about right for S )
The new S will have amazing technology for sure. A S500 is all I need
Anyhow, I am still thinking whether I should change the C55 to a 997 without S......

I almost traded my C32 for a 996 GT3. I don't know, they're just two completely different cars. I kind of like the stealth.
