Anyone ever pull this code? P0130??

Just Had the C43 give me a Check Engine Light and I pulled this code

P0130 O2 Sensor Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 1)
What does this exactly mean?

Thanks

After some searching I found this info out.

Oxygen Sensor part number C5010-88840

Its on the right side and before the three way cat converter. Some one please confirm that. Will replacing it dix the problem or do I need to do something else? (MAF)

My chyeck engine light came on awhile back, however at the time, i did not have an odbII reader so i just took it to the shop, they changed out the 02 sensor and it fixed my problem. our cars have 4 oxygen sensors, and what i regret was just changing out the one that went bad instead of just repacing all four.

Why? how would it have made a difference? I'm no longer under warranty so whats the price? $100? $50? each.

WOW...all four. O2 sensors are not spark plugs.

Just change the faulty one. Cost is about $100-$125 each.

yeah they are around the price that vinamg quoted, but the reason why i say i should have replaced all four is because if one went bad already, others might follow - might and might not, and for me, its a pain to keep going under the car for repairs and rather take care of it while the car is in the air. other than that, of course it make more economical sense just to replce the faulty one. also when you install the new O2 Sensor, take extra care that you do not contaminate the tip of the O2 sensor with any oil or anti-seeze compound, also do not touch the tip with yoru fingers either, it will prematurly burn out the O2 sensor.

Also pulled this code too

P0135 O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 1)

So I assume this means to replace it?

My check engine light was on steady less than a month ago and the dealer replaced the Mass Airflow Sensor. The light was off again after that but I am still getting 20 miles less out of a tank of gas than when I first got the car. Milage did improve a bit from the new MAF but not much. Today the light came back on while on the highway. I have a feeling the problem is an Oxygen Sensor this time - those are the only other part that can have a drastic effect on gas milage I would imagine.

Since my CEL came on and turned off after one day a month ago it, I have not seen any diff in my gas milage. Also it has yet to have come on again. Still not sure if I should replace it.

hey slvr, thats good to hear, it could have just been a glitch, maybe you should reset the codes and later see if they re-appear. you should be able to to do this with an ODBII reader/scanner.

if that malfunction continues it will give you bad a/F ratio in the engine.
Change that ASAP. The reason it didn't come back on is because the ECU has to gather the car's info after reset. Trust me, it will come back on and you don't want that.

When I had the scanner/reader I did try to reset the code but after each attemp to reset (after the scanner did the reset process) it would scan for codes and bring it back up. SO the scanner finds the code but the CEL wont light back up.

as I said, it will bring it back up the code once all the exhaust related sensor information is gathered. Take it to a high way and get some street highway, it will come back on. Just replace it soon. the later the worse it gets. You are killing the catalytic converters and the engine. Trust me on this one.

I don't know about "killing" the engine or cats, but it certainly is true that a non-optimal mix can cause build up of crap from unburned fuel or if the mix is too lean things will run hotter. I doubt much will go kaput within a month or half year even. Still, I will get this checked out as soon as I can bare a bill

recently i had my car smogged and what an experience. in the past i had my failing o2 replaced and i guess they never cleared my code. right before taking my car to teh smog station, i scanned my car and saw that there was an o2 sensor error showing up. well i cleared all the codes thinking i was smart and headed over to the smog station only to find out when they hooked up my car to their testing machine, the ecu shows that the car is not ready for testing. he asked me if i recen't cleared my codes and my first reply was how did he know??? said yes and he told me that i have to drive my car through various conditions so that my ecu can relaern my cars behavior and it needs to get out of testing mode (so to speak). with only few days till my smog was due, i drove the hell out of it, slow, fast, stop and go - all that stuff. finally after a full tank of gas, and driving my car with my scanner attached, my ecu fianlly put itself to ready mode. i then took it back to smog station and the test machine read it fine and passed. word to the wise, do not clear your code before smog testing, do it months in advance if you plan to clear any codes. also if you have any codes on your ecu, youwill not pass smog anyways. just FYI to all.

On my integra, after I installed many aftermarket mods, I was advise to reset the ecu but just pulling the fuse that is associated with it (or to remove the battery terminal.) Then letting it idel for 15 mins and that was it.
