Warrantees

I havent bought it yet, but I am pretty close to buying a C36 with 88K miles on it. What is the best way to go about getting a warrantee on it?

Base buying the warranty on if its gonna be a daily driver or not. I f you drive it everyday and plan on putting decent mileage ( 12-17k ) a year - go for the warranty. If less than that have it checked out before you buy and keep the money in your pocket.A warranty is like buying life insurance - you're betting its gonna break and the warranty company is betting it won't.

also he is buying a c36, from what i have read, c36 had some common issues with them, such as the engine wire harness and leaky head gasket just name a few and that alone will be costlier than the warranty itself. try to see if they had those repairs perfomed or take in for an inspection and ask the the person who is doing the inspection if its not already on paper to check for those and also the tranny. if all is well then maybe you can skip out on the warranty. i have a c43 and even with the common problems associated with them, i did not buy warranty and most of my services were very minor and maybe i got lucky. So in that sense, i also agree with AMGC43 but its still something that you should really think about considering - JUST IN CASE. how much is the warranty BTW?

I think the warrantee I found was about 700 dollars for 5 yrs 100,000 miles. Also, to answer the first questing, it is going to be a daily driver.

wow for $700, i would definately buy the warranty, just make sure that they are reputable and that they cover the powertrain and hopefully bumper to bumper. Ask on this forum if anyone ever dealt with the warranty service provider your are planning to go with to get some feedbacks about their warranty coverage, experience or better yet call a mercedes dealer and find out if they honor the warranty company that you plan to go with and if they do, what was their experience in honoring the claims. Hope this helped.

This sound way too good to be true..

You better check the price and the coverage (what covered and what's not) again before buying.

Also make sure the company that sell the warranty has a good financial support otherwise you'd be paying the warranty only to find out the company going bankkrupt a few months later..

That has got to be a motor & transmission warranty only. My warranty cost $2800 through a dealer and it covers everything except wear-tear items and interior parts. It has paid off already for fixing all kinds of stuff except engine and transmission which are still solid. I think the $700 will be wasted.

Since the car has 88K the warranty would be for 12K miles....I would risk it.
