Wanted: C43 bumper grill inserts
What's up everyone, just bought a Silver 98' C43 and it's missing the bumper grill insert thing. Anyone have one for sale or know how much they run?

someone said that they paid over $200 for it at the dealer... pretty outrageous. only if someone could make copies of this part since its a common parts that alot of c43 owners need.

Hey folks, looooooong time since I have posted...
So it happened to you too, eh?
Very common for that !#%$& peice to pop out.
Quote from my dealer was $351 ~unpainted~ !!
That piece has been gone on my car for about a year now, but F the dealer, I'm not gonna pay that...
Thanks for the info...

Do you have a link, or did you call them?
The only thing I found (under Body mechanical & trim) was this:
O5000-76917Grille Assembly IN STOCK $169.00 $165.62
which I don't think it is...
http://tinyurl.com/9st5h
or
http://catalog.eautopartscatalog.com...rille+Assembly
I always wanted to to do that area in wire mesh, but never got around to it, still have the gaping hole there.

Hello! I’m a newbie to this forum but a huge MB and Porsche fan. I bought my 1999 C43 in January 05’ and the car continues to impress me…I love it!!!
The previous owner hit a parking curb and put a nice size hole in the front bumper and not to mention the center grille popped out. Needing to repair and replace these pieces I’m planning on making my own center grille out of carbon fiber. I bought the OEM plastic piece at wholesale from the local MB Dealer for approx. $190.00 unpainted with tax. I'm currently taking all measurements from it for the mold/ tool construction.
I would be out material and the tooling costs but depending on how many people are interested I'm estimating I could sell a couple extra center grille pieces for half the price everyone talking about?? I’m going to try a couple types of options: 1) unidirectional prepreg (multiple sheet lay-up), this part will have to be painted but should yield a great finish. This piece will be a stock replacement. Option 2) 3K square weave fiber in a wet lay-up. I’ll try to use a little extra resin to get a super smooth finish. Hopefully the weave will lay-up nicely and I won’t have to paint this part. This piece should be a pretty close match to the B pillar graphics.
Let me know the interest level and I’ll provide updates on my progress?

I'm interested in one as well... I have no idea what the two different options mean, I'm just interested in something as close to stock and high quality as possible.
