Transmission fluid done!
Well, I waited about half a day in the service area. I was "helping" the mechanic so I could learn something as well as take pictures.
I was planning to "flush" the transmission, but since the dealer did not have a machine I just had it replaced. We not only drained and replaced the fluid at the bottom of the transmission, but eventually found the drain plug for the torque converter (after a lot of searching) and drained it as well. That was a good thing, because most all of the fluid was in it!
It cost $200 and my car has 41,000 miles on the clock. You can see for your self what came out of my C43. What went in dark red came out like this with tiny flakes of metal in it.

At first it did not drive so well. I think it needed time to pull some liquid around. Right now, I am a little concerned about a low idle I am getting, but it is getting better.
I drove around for about 30 minutes on the highway and then turned around. On the other on-ramp, I punched it. I broke all traction control and spun my tires for a while. Now, the shifts keep pulling and I feel like I have a new car.
Still idling at about 550 though...

I pay the dealer $450 to service my tranny and rear diff, since my CL 55 was in the dealer to have the tranny ECU reset after installed HPS sc. What the mechanic told me that they have to reset the tranny ecu to re-adapt again after every tranny service due to the new fluid. New fluid will have difference pressure, on the pressure torque converter. I don't know what exactly does that mean. It might be true since you have a drop in idling after you service your tranny. The said that my tranny pressure print-out was above then normal but it still within spec.

C43 Idle
My 'whitey' tends to be a 'weekend' auto - I'll warm her up this afternoon and see what her idle sits at.

Idle
Due to the graduations, or lack thereof on the tachometer, I would say that mine is at that range maybe 560 +/- 10 and steady...so i would say that your idle sounds about right.

Did you have this done at a dealer? You're in NC so im wondering if its within driving range. im getting ready to do the same to my CLK and my dealer wants $400.

Yeah, it is hard to see. There is a drain plug build on the torque converter. It is located in the open hole just behind the exhaust (as in the picture). It requires a TORX screwdriver.

had a certified mb shop do mine for $200. 8qts of mb trans fluid, filter kit. the cars tranny seems like new! fyi, c43s trannies go out around 65k if they are not serviced. this is what i'm told. well worth the money.
