Just picked up a C43

Hey everybody, I just wanted to introduce myself here. I just purchased a 98 C43, black on black and bone stock w/ all options. I love the car, it's a real beast.

Lol, not my first Benz. I've owned a couple of w124s (300e and 400e) and a C32. The C43 is the top dog for now though.

It's a drivability issue for me. If I were choosing a car to take to the track it would be the C32, but for daily driving the C43 is more to my liking.

It has more low end torque than the 32, by a lot. This is important to me since most of my driving is closer to 0 mph than 100 (this is SoCal after all). More comfortable ride because the suspension is stock, and the nicer interior ices it.

the C32 has gobs of more low end torque than the C43. 295 lb-ft from 2200-6100rpm. The C43 302 lb-ft 3250-5100rpm.

What you are talking about is not actually low end torque, but the more linear delivery of the 4.3 V8 rather than the more edgy. This is due to C32's transmission learning how it's driver drives as well as the supercharger is not fully engaged at all time.

I'll agree that the C43 does have a better fit&finished interior where the W203 has some stuff that feel loose.

LOL I had a feeling someone would throw some numbers at me.

Either way, both cars are great and the 43 was a nice surprise for me.

Me too!

Me too! I just bought a 1999 White C43. I bought it from NC and I'm in OK so about 1088 miles. The car transporter says it'll be 7 days before it gets here. But I'm guessing 14 days. I can't wait!
