Hi guys,
How do I change the Fog light bulb, from the back or front side of the lamp, any sugggestions on a bulb replacement ?

u have to do it from the inside i beleive...

 

If you are able to find any detailed instructions from anyone, I would like to see them too. Mine had a cracked lens when I bought it, the previous owner gave me the replacement, but I have never had it done. Will need to get it done before state inspection this year though. What kinda of crappy law is that, even though fog lights aren't required for nighttime driving, if they are on the car they can't pass inspection even if they are fully functioning but have a cracked lens. Sorry for the rant.

 

the fog lamp bulb can be access from only through the back of the lamp and back of the bumper.

 

its pretty easy. What you do is take off the time off the bumper(the lower grille thing.) Make sure you don't snap the support beams when you take off the trim. Now you can reach inside and take off the back of the fog light. Should take only a few minutes. Or hte other way is to take off the bumper. There are 4 bolts in the front two on top near the rad support and two where the bumper trim thing is again. Should only take a few min to take it off and put new bulbs in. Just make sure u don't scratch your bumper when putting it on the ground or something.

 

You can remove the cross piece on the bumper and access the lamps, like knvs said. I'm able to reach the back of the pax side fog lamp from above, via the engine compartment - providing you don't have gorilla hands. If you remove the front fender liners you can access as well....

It's easier if you lift the car, i just did it week ago. It took me 10 minutes. Just buy the correct bulbs, remove the bottom black plastic engine protector (or dirt guard) I actually did not remove it, mine were little lose, so i flexed them a little. You will see a plastic black cover, pull it out. After pulling it out, look at how it is installed (very easy). There are couple metal wire looking pieces that pushes the bulbs in, lift them up and replace them.


I am no mechanic, but it was surprisingly easy for me.

Does anyone know if it is possible to replace the Fog-Lamp bulb with a brighter one like Cibe/Piaa. Perhaps Halogen???!!

yes, i have done this many times. just make sure its H1 55 watts

 

I am no mechanic, but is was fairly easy. Approx 25 minutes both sides. I had a broken fog light lens and both bulbs needed replacment.
What I did was do one side at a time by steering the wheel all the way to the side I was working (E.I. All the way left when working with left side), this will give you space to use a #10 wrench/socket on 3 screws inside the front wheel splash guard, and remove a plastic pin connected to the bumper. Once this is done, pull aside the splash guard and it will give you enough space to insert your hand and remove the metal hinges (has 2 sides) holding the foglight bulb in place. It may be a bit akward to unfasten, but you will get the hang of it in no time. In a way you the action is: "push and set aside". remove the old bulb and insert the new one. The is only one way since these H-1 bulbs have a straight corner. That corner is the marker at where the metal hinges finish. (please see this when you are removing the old bulb, to have a grasp of what is explained). This is a tricky part about 50% of the job was wasted puting the metal hinges back again to hold the bulb in place, same action as above but in reverse. But plastic pin back between bumper and splash guard, then but back the 3 screws and done...
If you need to replace lens same intructions, the diferrence is that you will need a screwwdriver for 2 screws to dismount the entire foglight. The lens is held in place by a snap-on action hinges. Snap-out to remove broken lens, and snap-in to replace with new lens. I bought my lens from arizona autohauz (perfect fit).
If you need any more info let me know I could probably take some snapshots. By the way make sure you have a lot of light. The first time I tried it was sunsetting, big mistake. The 2nd time 9am and it was a breeze.
