Orthopaedic Seat problem
Dear all,
The drivers side orthopaedic seat control on my C43 seems to have a problem. I can hear hissing when I press the seat cushion and the lumbar support control does not work at all. Any ideas before I run off to the dealer who will no doubt charge me a ransom to look at it !!
Thanks HK C43

Unscrew the two phillips-head screws at the base of the seat cover - backside of seat. It'll slide down then simply move aside. Once you have done this, you'll more than likely see a tube has come out from that y-junction. Replace and use a tie wrap to keep in place. Downright easiest fix there is on this car!!!

Sorry to bring an old thread but is there a fuse for these orthopedic seats on our C43?
I've connected the loose hoses to the y connector on the back. Hoses under the seat and PSE pump are all connected also. I do hear the pump working in the trunk but both seat are not inflating when turning on the key. What could be the culprit?

Sorry I can't help for the fuse bit, but it could be another air pipe disconnected somewhere, especially if you hear the pump working.

I think both of you are right..
My next suspect is the orthopedic controls…I’ll have to break it apart to check make sure the vacuum lines are engaged. I sure do miss that lumbar support

Have you had a good listen around the trunk/cabin/under the dash? Do all your AC vent flaps work properly? You should be able to hear hissing, even from the control units.

I have the same problem and haven't had time to diagnose. I will throw this warning out there, be very very careful trying to take the controller apart. Before I was smart enough to search around this board and find out about the Y connection in the back of the seat that likes to come undone, I tried to take the controller on my drivers seat apart and when I put it back together, there was definitely a light leak. I tried taking it apart in the car and it was a challenge, at least for me. If I were to do it again, I'd probably try to pull the seat out for better access. This was probably 6 years ago, so I don't remember all of the details.

Parts for my rear braking system came in replacing both rotors, brake pads and parking brake which need to be prioritize. I’ll mess with the seats after this project.
