Brakes!!!

Well, after about 50k miles on my 1999 C43, I have been told that my front rotors are wearing too thin and will need to be replaced. I told them to put a hold on it until I could do some research on a good price for some ATEs.

I would really appreciate it if you all could help me. I think I remember hearing that the Power Slot ATEs (with the elliptical grooves) were a direct plug-and-play replacement. Is there anything true to this? If so, where can I order some?

If not, I will settle for a good price on an OEM replacement. As for you guys, where would you go to order replacement OEM brakes like these?

Thank you in advance!

PS. Gotta get pads too. Any suggestions would help.

oem is your only choice there bud, the stock rotors are made by SHW of germany, something like 270 a pop. your best bet is to suck a dick at the local benz dealer for a discount

I got front rotors (cross drilled) and pads for my 97 C36 for $325 from my local mechanic. Installed them myself. If the rotors are rusted on like mine were, get some penetrating lube and a big hammer. That is how I had to get mine off.

the front discs are only .5 inch bigger and they both use 4-pot calipers. It can't be that much different.

Really? I have cross-drilled and slotted on my C43.They are made by Disc Italia. Check this thread : https://mbworld.org/forums/c36-amg-c43-amg-w202/151413-c43-powdercoated-calipers.html.

I just purchased a used '99 and all four of my discs are quite used.

I'm getting quotes in the Austin area for replacing all 4, with new pads (including sensors) and a flush of the brake fluid in the $1300 - $1500 ballpark.

Best price I've seen online for the rotors is around $479 for the pair on ebay. The seller is in WA, and the auction ended recently with no buyer. He also said that he had 4 pairs.

Anyone interesed could get in touch searching the recently completed...

Best of luck.
