Another New C43 Owner

Seems like we have a few new C43 owners popping up. Just wanted to add some pics of mine to the list. Just got it a few weeks ago and am very happy so far. I'm coming from a same year S70 T5 with plenty of mods. My only complaints so far are lack of trip computer and gas mileage. The days of 30+ mpg are gone, but the smile on my face more than makes up for it.

It is a 1998 with 83K on the odo. Though the way the exterior and interior are kept it could pass for an '04. I'm truly amazed at how well the previous owner kept it.

Pic of the S70 T5M. It is lots of fun and has similar hp and probably more peak torque. However it isn't a RWD V8 and that counts for a lot.

But definitely has more potential than our beloved C43 indeed.

PS Your C43 is Beautiful. Welcome once again!

Thanks guys. I'm really happy with the car. I was looking at C43s when I got the S70, but was wowed by the S70s better numbers with just a few dollars in mods and the better gas mileage. That and it was a stick.

Now that I don't need a stick all the time I'm ok with an auto. And this is quite the auto machine to have. The gas mileage is nowhere near as good, but I don't really care listening to the V8 purr and having rwd again. The Volvo T5 engines make a disgusting amount of torque with very few mods, but are still FWD. They can't launch without seriously sticky tires. Watchout from a roll though. If the S70 T5 was RWD it would be M3, whats that? Mine has the Koni FSDs and Eibach springs which handled pretty good and rode well. However the C43 handles every bit as good (probably better, but I haven't pushed it) and rides smoother. Build quality is very impressive too. I thought Volvo made a solid car, but the Benz is actually a step up.

DarthCY,

Looks like a beautiful C43! The black is fantastic. (Personally, I would hate to take care of that color, but you can't argue that a black Merc makes for a classy ride ). Enjoy your AMG, I'll be enjoying mine right alongside you.

Thanks again guys. Yep, found this board. Also, the carbon fiber on the B pillars are one of the things that really pushed me over the top on the purchase.

A little info on the T5.
2.3L Turbo 5 Cylinder with a chip and MBC @ 17 psi.
Got 302mm slotted and dimpled rotors w/ ss lines.
Can't see it in the picture, but the caliper are painted black
with "volvo" vinyl decals in silver on them.
2.5" Cat back.
Short throw shifter w/ carbon fiber ***.
Upgraded Intercooler and ss reverse ic piping.
17 lb lightweight wheels.
Koni FSD shocks with Eiback springs.
Putting down somewhere between 280-300 hp and definitely
over 300 tq.

It will throw you back in your seat very hard and still get 28-30 mpg
on the highway. Biggest problem is it is FWD and doesn't launch very
well. Once it gets rolling look out. I'm going to miss having her, but hopefully it is going to stay in the family.

There is a great video somewhere out there on youtube of an overboosted Norwegian 850 T5 running somewhere near 600 HP......every time the driver hits it (video is shot from a chase car) the car practically goes sideways.....even at like 50-60 mph. Craziest Volvo I have ever seen!

Those 'carbon fiber' pillars ain't CF by the way - they're painted ala carbon fiber-esque....at least on mine. If yours are, I need some part numbers...
