Windows problem
Hi guys,
last week as I parked outside where I work I noticed that the drivers window wouldn't go up. There was no noise coming from the motor neither I had any prior indication, all windows were working fine prior to that. I took it to a mechanic that supposedly specializes on MB and BMW cars. He hooked the computer up and told me that he reset the window control module. After that the window was working fine. The following day in the morning, I noticed that both the drivers window and the front passengers window stopped working! I took the car back to the same guy. He hooked up the computer but he said that this time he couldn't access the window module! He suggested to make sure I have the code for the radio and then disconnect the battery for some time (haven't done that yet). This afternoon I noticed that the rear right window stopped working as well !!!
What in the earth is going on? Is there a module that controls all windows that might went bad?
Thank you all in advance for the help!

If you disconnect the battery there IS a reset procedure you'll need to do to got the windows to work normally again.

Hi StapleGun, thanks for the input.
Is there a procedure to disconnect the battery and also where can I find the procedure to reset the windows after I do that?

I did check the manual. The procedure to reset the windows implies that the windows go up and down. Mine are not moving at all.

The reset is restoring the 'express' funtion on your windows - I dunno if it'll help you with if they are 'inop' does not hurt to try...just undue the battery terminal. Yes - the reset IS in the manual BTW.

After I disconnected the battery all windows were working fine. A couple of days later the passengers side and one of the rear windows stoped. I then, reset the battery again and all windows started working. A couple of days later the driver's one stopped. I read in another site that basically each window has its own module. When one goes bad it inrerrupts the rest of them and they too stop working. At this point I want to replace the driver's side module (I'm thinking that that's the problematic one). If anyone knows where to get it please let me know.
