Coolant change

I'm going to change the coolant today. Does anyone know if there is an engine block drain plug in addition to the radiator drain plug like on bimmers?

i believe there is. here's a great how-to from the other forum. it's for a 6-cyl 202, but its still informative ...

The link is for a W202 with the M104 inline six. The M112 V-6 and the M113 V-8 are a bit different (in a good way). I have done a coolant change twice on my E430 and once on my C280SE and I didn't get more than a few drops from the block drain. The cooling system on these new engines is designed to drain fully through the radiator drain.

NOTE: If you want to open the block drain, it is on the passenger side of the engine. It has an internal hex (down in the hole), not an external hex like the one in the link.

Well I searched the underside of both the passenger and driver's side of the block and was unable to find a drain plug, if anyone knows where it is on the C43, 113 engine, I greatly appreciate it.

Since my last response to your query I changed the coolant on my son's 1999 C43. The block drain is on the passenger side above the motor mount - it is very hard to see. However, as I posted earlier, you do not need to drain the block. I only got about 1 ounce out of it. The M112/113 series engines drain everything through the radiator drain.
