C43 Foglight Removal

So a few months back I took a big hit from a rock during a storm right in the passenger side foglight on my front bumper. Now that I have a replacement assembly, I'm wondering if anyone can tell me how to remove the front bumper so that I can swap the old one out for the new one. Thanks

If you want to remove the front bumper, you'll need to remove that horizontal slat, aka the single grill horizontal piece beneath. It's snapped-in place and has two little black ties to retain (HA!). Once you remove this piece, you'll see the bolts you need to remove. The bumper assembly slides out, use plenty of blankets. If your hands ain't too big, bumper removal is not necessary - you'll scratch yourself up though.

yeah, I thought I had skinny hands, but even mine wouldn't fit around to the other side of the light....oh well. Thanks for the tips!

Don't forget to mention the upper nuts where he will have to remove the plastic fan grill to get to those in order to completely remove the front bumber.

Have you tried removing the lower front portion of the fender inner liner? Then you can reach in behind the bumper to remove the foglight.

Thanks everyone for the help! I finally got around to replacing the light this afternoon and it went off almost w/o a hitch. Only problem was that the electrical connectors on the lights themselves were kinda corroded and stuck so I ended up pulling the pins out individually and leaving the connectors attached to the fog assemblies. When I went to put the bumper back on, one of the pins kept dislodging itself and the old light (that wasnt broken) kept not working. So if anyone does this, I highly recommend taking the extra time to seperate the connectors before you pull the bumper away so that you are sure to not screw up the somewhat delicate electrical connection. Its all good now....too bad I won't see fog for a long time

just ordered through the dealership....I think it priced out at around $115 or so. Unfortunately you can't just get a replacement lens, so you have to buy the whole unit. BTW, if anyone wants a fog w/ a broken lens for whatever reson, its free and up for grabs.....works just fine in spite of the broken glass.

Yes you can get the lens individually -I have posted the lens P/N in the past - they're about $18 each. See link below, see post #9
