I disagree, flat hood emblem much sportier, keep the flat hood emblem. Black grille looks awesome on black car w/ FHE, Keep it exactly the way it is!! . Did you do primer then black then clearcoat? describe which process you did. thanks

I had a local body shop paint it. I think they sandblasted, painted, and clear coat. I don't think I would ever have a pop up hood emblem. I had a friend drive the car and I saw from a far and it looks mean. I am very happy with it.

does anyone have any tips for an amateur wanting to paint their grill themselves?
