Question C43 or TT?

Hello guys, this is my first post. My name is Vinicius and im from Brazil, 21yrs.
Well, im going to buy a car by the end o december, but i can't decide wich one should i get, i hope u can help me. Im going to give u some info bout me;
I like rare cars, exclusive, but here, in brazil, its all very expensive(Mercedes sl55 amg = U$400.000) so, i have to buy used ones.
My first was a 1994 BMW325, than a Grand Cherokee 5.2, than a 1997 Audi S6 Plus(only 800 was made, 326hp, 6spd manual, 5.6sec) and now i have another Grand Cherokee, but this is a 1998 5.9 245hp engine.
Well i have to decide wich car should i buy. I'm thinking about a C43 or a 2000 TT coupe 225.
The TT has a 4 cilynder engine, i know its turbo and has a great torque, but a 4 cilynder, its a gay engine hehe, but the car is awsome, the desing, etc.
The C43 must have a loud and strong V8(wich i adore) but its a 4 door sedan, and automatic, and i already have an automatic and 4 door(the Jeep), So, wich one, the 200 225 TT or the 1999 C43?
I have to keep in mind, that my friend who has my age, and hates me, and i hate him, has a 2002 M3
So, please, help me to decide

Personally I would go with the C43. I say because in order to have the TT running as fast as an M3 you would have to do some serious engine work. Besides, with the C43 you will have a strong engine to build on. I have run my C43 against a few M3's, and everytime the other driver has given up trying to keep up or pass me. I know the M3 should be faster, but dont forget that the driver plays a big role too.

Just in case, do the math:

98-99 C43 cost about 35K
Kleeman SC 20K (Supercharger, install, brake upgrade)

With the Kleeman C43 you will basically destroy most of the competition.

TT ?? Who knows?

It boils down to personal preference. I like the C43 b/c it is a good example of luxury and performance.

Good luck

TT OR C43

If i take the C43, i'll have to keep it with the stock options, because i live in Brazil any performance kit would cost so expensive that u would be surprised
I was thinking that if i take th C43, im gonna go for the black and the only mods that i would do is to get the amg wheels chromed, i saw that black c36 with chromed wheels and i love it
Also, have serius doubts about automatic transmission, but it seems that Mercedes has a very strong automatic transmission.
Does every C43 have that infra red key? or that was an option?
Thanks guys, please help me to decide wich one should i get, TT ou C43.?

I believe that every C43 has the infrared key. As for the auto transmission, it all depends on the driver. If you like MT than you might be better off with a car with MT. One thing is that the AMG transmission is adaptive to the driver. If you ride the accel heavy then the car will stay in gears longer to maximize power to the wheels. If you ride the accel light, then the car shifts accordingly. If you cannot afford crazy upgrades, then the best car to run stock against a new M3 would be the M roadster. I think they have the same output (or close) to the new M3. Also, you will have the MT if you wanted it. I also think that it is the price range you are looking at.

I'll send you pics of my car when I get it done

Good luck

C43 or TT?

Denlasoul, thanks for the reply, and i would love to see your C43
There are just a few Z3M, here in brazil, it was imported to Brazil just for one year (1998), so that would be very hard for me to find one in a good shape, but it's not impossible. I think the Z3M would beat the M3.
Well, to be honest, i preffer much more the new audi S6 than the new M3. So, i was thinking in get a car that would hold the price, for me to get an audi S6 2001 in 2004, i think that would be a good choice.
I don't know if the C43 holds its price, i guess it does because its a mercedes.
But i'm in a dilema, i worship big powerfull V8 engines, but i just hate automatic transmission, i love the 6 speed MT from Audi, but i hate 4 cilynder engines.
Well, it's going to be tough! god (and you guys) help me!

I understand your appeal to the V8. It is a wonderful sound when you accelerate past people. My reason of buying the C43 was for the AMG engine. As you may have seen in my signature, I had a C280. You cannot really compare the two, but they are similar in certain aspects. The C43 is a great balance between power and luxury. Also, since they were produced for only 3 years, it makes the car kinda rare.

I would suggest that you test drive the cars in question. The TT will not compete with the M3 without major engine work. The C43 is close, but a good M3 driver can beat a C43. The M Roadster is a very fast car. I hope we are talking about the same car. I am referring to the M car that looks like the Z3 but has a 300+ hp engine. It is probably one of the fastest cars from BMW. My neighbor had one and it sound almost like a V8. Very fast, I never ran my car against one, but it should beat me.

Audis are really nice cars. I dont know much about their power and stuff like that. I have a buddy with a 98 A4 and he can easily beat S4's and C43's without any problems. But, he did do alot of engine work.

Holding value does not play much in my book. I say this because I plan on keeping my C43. I am trying to build it up, but it is my daily driver right now. I think once everything is done, then I will buy a second car and drive the C43 less.

Good luck,

DLS

I heard that the C43 comes with diferent tire sizes, the rear are larger, is that true? Well, that sounds very exciting.

S6Plus:

Yes, the car comes with staggered wheels. I believe they are 17x7.5 and 17x8.5 from the factory. I decided to go with a larger size 18x8 and 18x9. They look really nice, but are definitey heavier, probably not that much. My car is black with the all black interior. I plan on doing some modifications when I get back from my trip.

Mods so far are: Clear corner turn signal, Avantgarde grille, AMG stainless door sills, 18 inch AMG Monoblock wheels, H&R Springs (lowers 1.5 inches), and an UPsolute chip (not installed yet).

I have some other things planned, hopefully I will get them done soon.

Personally, I like the black best. I think it adds a bit of "mysteriousness" when people see it. Silver would be my second choice. I have only seen black, silver, white and red for the C43. Oh yeah, some guy in Germany has an Orange (cant remember the real name) C55. I believe the enging is a 5.5 liter and it is REALLY REALLY nice. Maybe I can find the link and send it to you.

Regards,

DLS

Go to the C55 thread in this forum. On page two is the orange C55 I was talking about. In the fourth pic there is a black C43, my car looks very similar to that one.
