Dilema

So here is the dilema. For the past month or so I have been getting a crazy pulling side to side when dring the car on the highway. People have told me its the wheels (oem e55 doouble spokes, et 25 and 29). I am thinking to myself, no way. So today I cut the wheel all the way and look inside the drivers wheel well. The spring does not look like it is properly seated in the bottom coupler. Other notes, recently replaced the steering damper, both tie rod ends, both wheel bearing and some other minor stuff. If it is not the spring and I am dilusional, what else could it be. I am not just talking about a slight pull, I am talking about **** grab the wheel before you hit the wall pull.

Sounds scary.

I notice that mine will pull hard from time to time. However, its always when there is a pavement irregularity. Up here in NE that means 4 in drops and ruts here and there.....

In my situation I blame the roads partly, but when it happens I would be in the woods if it weren't for my hands on the wheel. Mabye its realated but at different levels.

i get this side-to-side pulling as well, both before and after i lowered the car. for me, it happens on uneven pavement (lumps, crowned, etc). i thought it was just a product of the stiff, low profiled sidewalls on the tires...

The car was not always like this. It happened on about 2 months ago. I thought it was the wheels. I have had the car since May and never had a problem. The turning is great but should not cause severe pulling/drifting side to side.

Very interesting. My mechanic test drove the car 4 times and so did the other mechanic. Up and down on the lift and they found nothing. they swear its the wheels and tires on the front end. I am changing them again, we will see.
