cost vs. power ratio... I have a total of $2700 into my SC set-up currently and that includes my digital gauges (wideband, iat, fuel pressure, vac. boost, voltage) and 2 hrs of dyno tuning. That does also include the stock parts i was able to sell due to them being replaced.

plus motor swap will come in due time and when that happens all i will need to do is fit a different charger.

Motor swap was a massive difference and worth every penny. It also puts you in an elite club with the other N/A 5.5L cars. Something they should have done with our car when they made the CLK55 but did not because of the E55.

You'll have to drive a CLK55 or E55 to actually appreciate what I'm saying. You'll definitely see what I mean if you drive a CLK55.
There was no other affordable option available for me at the time because when I had the 4.3L motor I wanted to go Kleemann(12k).

it is interesting to me how swapping a larger motor always is cooler than making the same power with a smaller one- not ripping on that option at all (and it is something i def. plan to pursue down the road).

I've just noticed it in a lot of different areas- I know when my friend put the 5.4 dohc in his mustang (01 gt) people gave it a ton more respect than when he had actually been making more power the year before with a turbo sohc 4.6. he did later make 3x the power with the 5.4 that he had with the 4.6 but the point sort of remains.

That's kinda being general and not necessarily so. Look at my Talon,2.0L 412awhp(500hp est).

When I ran it against my friends Viper he was shocked to death at how well it ran against it even though his Viper was faster as speeds climbed. It was a group of us,some knew it was a 2.0L 4cyl motor and were very impressed at that. Others were not surprised at all, because they have seen DSM's and Evolutions run at the track(11's,10's,9's,s8's,7's,6's in the 1/4 from 117mph to 198mph).
550awhp is the goal on this new freshly race built bottom end I have sitting here in my basement.

I find it also impressive how the 5.0L E39 M5 makes more power than the N/A 5.5L E55. 400hp vs 349 to 362hp. M5 has impressed many because of this. The C32 continues to impress others as well.

All this talk about big engines and superchargers makes me want to put
a SC into my E55, but that'll have to be determined in the future.

Nevertheless, this thread as well as other SC threads (like Peter's K) are very
educational from my point of view so please keep them coming

Thanks

I say go 5.0 or even better 5.5L for power and more reliability.

If you wanna be creative go F/I with the 4.3L motor but ya better know what you are doing or have someone do the F/I install for you.
