limited slip?

so, i flip my esp/abs switch to my full off position (same as pulling the fuse) and the car spins both rear tires and leaves rubber with both... and i'm thinking... weird

I jack the entire rear end of the car up and you can't spin one of the wheels without the other spinning...

I bought the car from a fellow minnesotan with a decent number of miles on it (i was the third owner).

what's back there?

Hey how about responding to questions if you expect people to continue to supply you information? Since you start new threads but ignore the older ones I'll ask again here instead.

oh, sorry.

I think it's been established that that part doesn't exist, hasn't it?

I didn't realize you were doing anything more than making fun of me in those posts...

sorry for making this thread?

Doesn't exist? So you recieved what exacty, and how super cheap? A standard m113 maf? A used one? Or did you get taken and recieved nothing, is so then make sure no one else gets taken advantage of here?

You will be made fun of if you leave yourself open for it. Even if our stories aren't full holes, you will be poked.
So, Obviously you didn't get a W211 E55 maf, so what did you get? Maybe you stumbled on something, I haven't accused you of anything too serious yet, unless your admitting the maf thing is complete b.s..

On your diff question, if you have the transmission in neutral, parking brake released, if when you turn a rear wheel the other tries to turn opposite, it's open, the same it has som sort of traction aid.

i suppose that's a simple way to look at it- wonder what's up with my car

The maf i got is a w210 maf or something. It does have a different insert than the C43, but the same size housing. I have a maf scaler and can log the maf voltage readings etc.- it reads slightly lower at the same rpms.

There is no "AMG" maf meter, the C36 uses a maf that the c280 and e320, s320 etc. The C43 uses the same maf as ALL the M113's use, hence no special E55 W210 maf. The part number on your maf should be the same, if it's not then it's just not right.
Part #'s mercedes 113 094 00 48, Bosch number 0 280 217 810. If it doesn't have these then it's not right and you'll have one more problem to deal with.

I stated "AMG" in my short educational post to clarify for not just you but others that read this post THAT THERE IS NO SPECIFIC amg maf's, but you did state it was an E55 maf you purchased. Is an E55 an AMG or not? You know it is so don't make statements like that.

You like to be real vague with the details and still don't like to answer questions, maybe everyone should give you minimal, vague, general, no detail info. without corrections and warnings just like you have/haven't provided.
Good luck!

1. so far as i've been around this fourm, they certainly do!

2. i didn't realize it was anything anyone else cared about

3. this maf insert is scaled differently than the one that was stock in my c43 (so far as my pretty-unscientific research has shown) and it has a different part number than my stock insert or my replacement insert i ordered online. I believe you are right that they are all the same housing (really, i know nothing about benzes in general) but it would make sense that the inserts are different between different engine sizes etc.

4. my vagueness in posting and lack of posting further knowlege is not because i'm trying to hide anything from anyone- i'm just a guy who sort of knows how to build a decent ford or subaru motor who is trying to make some power out of his m113 (and having to wade through a lot of crap and incomplete information). I promise that i will post the solutions to the problems that i've had if anyone else goes down a similar path.
